because an arab’s citizen could be a muslim, a Christian,
jewis, or etc
 An arab = any person who adopts the Arabic language

Islamic prinsiple

SAW
 Sunnah are the prophet’s saying and deeds.

Five pillar of islam
 Five requirements are made of all muslims. These are called the “five pillars
of islam”. These are :
 Kalma recitation : to declare that there is no God but ALLAH and that
Muhammad is his “rasul” (the prophet or messenger ). The kalma reads as
follows :
“ la ilaha ill-allah, Muhammadu-Rasulullah”
 Namaz-e-panjagana : participation in five periods of prayer each day.
 Zaqat : payment of an obligatory tax to the needy.
 Roza : mandatory fasting during the month of romadhon.
 Hajj : pilgrimage to mecca at least once in the lifetime of a muslims.
Tawhid (onenes of god) as the substance of
Islamic teaching

 What is tawhid..?

 Tawhid comes from the Arabic word “wahid” or “ahad”

It has 3 parts :
ALLAH is the creator, ALLAH is the sustainer, ALLAH is preserver. He is
The rabb ‘Alhamdulillah rabbil alamin’ . (rabb of the world)
 He is everywhere by his knowledge – by his mercy – he
looks after everything but he is not part of the worlds
(a’lams).
He is distinc from it
He is THE CREATOR but is not apart of his creation
A’lam e ibda – a’lam e roohani and jismul mutlaq – the total
body
Tawhid :God in the singular
 perhaps the most essential feauture of islamic picture of
god is that of God's oneness.
 in arabic, this is known as Tawhid (which literally menas
'oneness')
 tawhid has come to be synoymous with islam itself.
 communication and promulgating tawhid are thus the
entire purpose of islam .
 the entire purpose of life, according to islam,is thus to
recognize ALLAH and to worship him.
 Tawhid implies the unity, coherence and harmony.
Between all the parts of the universe. Everything is related to the same
origin and source, every constituent of the world is the part of the same
whole, and all parts constitute one unity.
 There is a purpose and meaning to the entire universe.
A meaning and purpose that can be seen in some parts.
 All reality is issues from the one – who is the sole absolute reality,
which is also absolute beauty

Plato “beauty is in the splendor of the truth”

From this word, we got conclution that “everything in the cosmos is the
result of this reflection or the firs emanation – the tajalli in aqal
aw’wal.”
We have being trying to understand tawhid with the help of words.
Peace as the objective of all islamic
teachings

 Muslims exchange the purified and noble greetings “As-Salamu Alaikum”

(Peace be upon you) when they meet, when they pass by one another, when
they call one another. Even when a Muslim enters his own home and finds no
one there, he says as-Salamu Alaikum since he offers this greeting upon the
angels who are present in that place and upon himself. This form of greeting
helps to relieve the hearts from all forms of enmity and grudges and rancor
people may keep within them, replacing it with good will, mutual respect,
tranquility, security and happiness. Often Muslims greet one another by saying
the fuller version, which has been taught by the Prophet of Allah: 'As-Salamu
Alaikum wa rahmatul'laah' i.e. “May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you,
and His Mercy.”
 Islam is the religion of peace and mercy for all creatures. But, now-adays,
some extremist has spread misconception about the Islam, that as, it is the
religion of sword for terror. But, the actual fact is that, Islam is the religion of
peace and it condemns extremism and violence. Islam promotes the peace,
calm, harmony, any tranquility in society.Islam is a peaceful religion, its best
examples, we can see, in the practical life of Holy Prophet (SAW). He was the
Messenger of Allah (SWT) to convey the message of honesty, piousness, peace,
mercy, integrity, and love. He had never done any activity which indicate act
of terrorizing, misconduct, racism and violation against humanity. Even
though, he showed the mercy on animals, insects and plants. The world knows
him, as a 'Rahmatul-lil-Aālamyn'(Mercy into the world).
 From the life of Holy Prophet (SAW), it is concluded that Islam is the religion
of peace and humanity. It did not spread by the forced of sword, rather, it
spread by its golden quality Islam is an Arabic word that comes from the same
root as the words salima - signifying peace, and aslama, signifying submission.
Islam therefore denotes the attainment of peace through submission to the
True God. The foundation of Islam is affirmation of belief in and submission to
Allah - an Arabic word (related to the Hebrew word Elohim) signifying the One
True, Unique God, Originator and Sustainer of the Universe, the Eternal, the
All-Knowing, All-Powerful, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, the Wise, the
Granter and Withholder, the Just, the Merciful.
Examples of Acts Prohibited in Islam
which help Promote Peace
Islam has denounced and condemned vehemently the following acts and strictly
prohibited their practice in the path of promoting peace and security in the
society, and eradicating or curtailing wrath, hatred, rancor, greed, and
resentment which are the root causes of conflicts and violence.
Polytheism and Idolatry
Polytheism and idolatry inevitably cause conflict as clans, tribes and peoples
compete and vie for recognition, status, dominance and tribute for their idols
and associated ideologies and mythologies. If all people worshipped Allah the one
and only God then the greatest root of violence would be eradicated.
It is a known fact that much conflict, fighting and murder takes place due to
“love triangles” wherein people fight over their legal or illegal sexual partners.
Islam has cut all the pathways to illegal sexual relations to preserve the chastity
and purity of the people of the society, and to prevent conflict, illegitimate
children and abortion.
 Aggression and oppression.
Allah ( ) said:
 (The blame is only against those who oppress men with wrongdoing and
insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and
justice; for such people there will be a grievous penalty.) (42:42)
Allah, the Almighty and Exalted stated
 (Say: The things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds,
whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or justice; assigning
of partners to Allah for which He hath given no authority; and saying things
about Allah of which you have no knowledge.) (7:33)
Allah, the Almighty also said:
 (If one amongst the pagans polytheists ask you for asylum, grant it to him so
that he may hear the Word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be
secure. That is because they are men without knowledge.) (9:6)
Unkind treatment towards parents, children and kindred.
This is based on the verse revealed:
 (Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to
parents. And if one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of
contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And, out of kindness,
lower to them the wing of humility, and say: My Lord! Bestow on them thy Mercy just as
they cherished me in childhood.) (17:23-24)
And the Messenger of Allah ( ) said:
 “The happiness and dismay of Allah is from the parents’ happiness and dismay with
their child, and the unhappiness and dismay of Allah is from the unhappiness and
dismay of parents from their children.” (Tirmidthi)
Islam teaches benevolence towards all kindred. This is based on the verse revealed in
the Glorious Qur’an,
 (Then, is it to be expected of you, if you were put in authority, that you will do
mischief, in the land, and break your ties with kith and kin? Such are the men whom
Allah has cursed for He has made them deaf and has blinded their sight.) (47:22-3)
This is also based on the tradition of the Prophet of Allah ( ):
 “A person breaking family ties will not enter Paradise” (Bukhari & Muslim)
History Of The Decline And Development
Of Islam
 The history of Islam concerns the political, social,
economic and cultural developments of Islamic
civilization. Most historians accept that Islam
originated in Mecca and Medina at the start of the
7th century CE. Muslims regard Islam as a return
to the original faith of the prophets, such as
Jesus, Solomon, David, Moses, Abraham, Noah and
Adam, with the submission (islam) to the will of
God.
The prophet era
 muhammad would share his visions and revelations with other people
and try to teach them about Allah and belief in one God.
 Muhammad began receiving what Muslims consider to be divine
revelations, calling for submission to the one God, the expectation of
the imminent Last Judgement, and caring for the poor and needy.
Muhammad's message won over a handful of followers and was met
with increasing opposition from Meccan notables. In 622, a few years
after losing protection with the death of his influential uncle Abu
Talib, Muhammad migrated to the city of Yathrib (now known as
Medina). With Muhammad's death in 632, disagreement broke out over
who would succeed him as leader of the Muslim community during the
Rashidun Caliphate.
Dynasty of ummaya

 By the 8th century, the Umayyad Caliphate extended from

Iberia in the west to the Indus River in the east. Polities
such as those ruled by the Umayyads and Abbasid
Caliphate (in the Middle East and later in Spain and
Southern Italy), Fatimids, Seljuks, Ayyubids and Mamluks
were among the most influential powers in the world.
Highly persianized empires built by the Samanids,
Ghaznavids, Ghurids made significant developments. The
Islamic Golden Age gave rise to many centers of culture
and science and produced notable polymaths,
astronomers, mathematicians, physicians and philosophers
during the Middle Ages.
Turkys utmani era
 By the early 13th century, the Delhi Sultanate conquered the northern
Indian subcontinent, while Turkic dynasties like the Sultanate of Rum
and Artuqids conquered much of Anatolia from the Byzantine Empire
throughout the 11th and 12th centuries. In the 13th and 14th centuries,
destructive Mongol invasions and those of Tamerlane (Timur) from the
East, along with the loss of population in the Black Death, greatly
weakened the traditional centers of the Muslim world, stretching from
Persia to Egypt, but saw the emergence of the Timurid Renaissance and
major global economic powers such as West Africa's Mali Empire and
South Asia's Bengal Sultanate. Following the deportation and
enslavement of the Muslim Moors from the Emirate of Sicily and other
Italian territories. the Islamic Spain was gradually conquered by
Christian forces during the Reconquista. Nonetheless, in the Early
Modern period, the states of the Age of the Islamic Gunpowders—the
Ottoman Turkey, Safavid Iran and Mughal India—emerged as great world
powers.
Islam on 19 th and 20 th centuries

 During the 19th and early 20th centuries, most of the

Islamic world fell under the influence or direct control of
European "Great Powers." Their efforts to win
independence and build modern nation-states over the
course of the last two centuries continue to reverberate
to the present day, as well as fuel conflict-zones in
regions such as Palestine, Kashmir, Xinjiang, Chechnya,
Central Africa, Bosnia and Myanmar. The Oil boom
stabilized the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, making
them the world's largest oil producers and exporters,
which focuses on free trade and tourism
