Teachers of Two Public Elementary Schools in Northern Mindanao
toward the K-12 Curriculum Shift. 1. What is the significance of each study? The significance of this study is about how k-12 will work in the Philippines if it really helps the students for their future or not. This research shows the readiness of both public schools in Northern Mindanao, if k-12 is accepted by students and teachers. 2. What are the findings of each study? Even though this research result is negative in readiness of public schools in k- 12 in the Philippines, lack of equipment and lack of training and experience for teachers. The results of survey for student and teachers believing that they can get a better job in the future because of k-12. The students are very optimistic by achieving their goals. Even though it will be really hard for them in terms of financial and it will consume their 2 more years in the schools, students are still willing to invest their time in order to get what they want in the future. Teachers also agreed that k-12 will help students to get a better job in the future but still there are some students and teachers disagreed. In order to achieve those goals everyone should need a participation, teachers should find ways on how they will get new strategies on how they will implement the said curriculum while students should pursue their studies despite of changes in the curriculum. 3. How would a policy maker be able to utilize each of the findings? By implementing those findings, starting by themselves they should be the one who should follow the findings that they want to implement and also by the coordination of every aspect in the curriculum. Everyone should have their own rule in order to get want they want to achieve. Everyone should remember that they important and they are part of the implementation. 4. Based on the findings what will be your recommendations? Good attitude and behavior must be practice in school. Researchers must continue their job for the k-12 program. For every changes students school heads and teacher should always consider those students who are lack in financial support from the family in this way no students will be left behind.
