This Owner Handbook describes all Fiat Grande Punto versions.


As a consequence, you should consider only the information which is related to the engine and
bodywork version of the car you purchased.

MUST BE READ!
REFUELLING
petrol engines: only refuel with unleaded petrol with octane rating (RON) 91 minimum.
Diesel engines: only refuel with normal diesel (avoid premium diesel) conforming with cetane number 51 min-
imum.
The use of other products or mixtures may damage the engine beyond repair and consequently cause lapse of war-
ranty in relation to the damage caused.

ENGINE STARTING
petrol engines: make sure that the handbrake is engaged; set the gearshift lever to neutral; fully depress the clutch
without pressing the accelerator, then turn the ignition key to AVVand release it as soon as the engine has started.
Diesel engines: make sure that the handbrake is engaged; set the gearshift lever to neutral; fully depress the clutch
without pressing the accelerator, then turn the ignition key to MAR and wait for the warning lights and to
go off; turn the ignition key to AVVand release it as soon as the engine has started.
