• Pedestrian traffic will be routed around
the site (Early Learning Center side) and
campus side
• Construction traffic will be Wyman Park
Drive via Sisson/29th Street/I-83

Construction workers will park at Johns

Hopkins at Eastern on 33rd Street and
Loch Raven Boulevard (across the street
from Memorial Stadium) and will be
shuttled to the job site daily

In order to complete adaptive reuse of Wyman Park Building 1, a hospital building built in the 1930s, this project will
address aging building systems and inefficient core service configuration. Project scope includes replacing the
existing HVAC systems, elevators, restrooms, building envelope, electrical distribution, IT backbone and water
distribution, fire suppression systems, selective roof repair, window replacement, and masonry cleaning/repair. It will
support the building's expanded use for academic and office space and serve JHU for the next 50 years.

Hopkins Student Center PROJECT UPDATE

The Hopkins Student Center (HSC) will address long-standing needs for a facility to support informal student social
interaction, relaxation, and community building. The highly visible building location will become the primary
North Charles Street pedestrian campus gateway for students.

Traffic and Pedestrian Closures, Detours

• N. Charles Street will be closed to southbound
traffic between 33rd and 32nd Streets.
Northbound traffic and pedestrian and bicycle
traffic will remain. The loop servicing The
Beach is not effected and will remain accessible
from the southbound traffic lane.
• Pedestrians will be safely detoured around the
site on campus as well as on N. Charles Street
