Chris had a feeling that the Engineers are unmotivated with their works.

Thus, in a visit with the Firm’s Personnel, He reported what he observed. Chris

explained to the Firm’s personnel that the Engineers are not exerting that much effort

for R&D to be the leading firm in the industry. He also told the personnel that the

Engineers are not meeting the deadline which is definitely a problem when it comes

to the growth and success of a certain company. The personnel on the other hand

asked Chris if there are financial rewards to engineers, which in fact they do not

have because the Company Policies do not include extra financial compensation

during the year. If this problem will continue in the workplace, a much bigger problem

will face not just Chris but the company as a whole. Chris needs to work out and find

what’s really causing the Engineers’ lack of motivation in their respective works.

There are times that the workers tend to seemingly unmotivated because of

certain circumstances. It can be because of the environment, or the people that

surrounds a certain worker, or because of personal problems, perhaps.

What Chris needs to do is to execute effective communication among his

Engineers. Be that image of strength and positivity among the workers for them to

get inspired and be active in performing their jobs. Help them build their self-

confidence by including them and recognize their feelings. Listen when you need to,

and speak when it’s the right thing to do. Be a Leader who inspires, who cares, and

who sets a winning goal. Work well with the members and eventually, you will sure

build a family.

On the other hand, what the Firm Personnel needs to suggest is that, Chris

should reward the Engineers when they perform well. Giving rewards will surely

make them motivated and feel valued for their work. Properly administered reward

systems can improve job performances and satisfaction. In the process of

motivation, Needs plus Motivation leads to Action or Goal-oriented behavior which

also results to need satisfaction which leads to readiness for the next need. Firm

Manager should tell Chris that if motivation is absent among the Engineers, it will

surely affects the whole process. Chris needs to perform Motivational Techniques,

such as Motivation through job design, Motivation through rewards, Motivation

through employee participation and other motivation techniques for the diverse work

force
