What On Earth Am I Here For?

I challenge you to pray that you may learn about God’s purpose for you. Ask God why He

created you. When you make this your goal, you’re on your way to healthy reasoning and

learning Gods’ purpose for your life. I encourage you to read The Purpose Driven Life by Dr.

Rick Warren (Zondervan). You can learn the easy way or the hard way…and one of the first

things to know is that there are no accidents in life. God designed it all. Colossians 1:16 (Msg)

says “For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after

rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.”

God’s desire is for us to grow up into the men he created us to be. It begins at birth and continues

throughout our lives: it’s a process. The season you are in right now is part of that process.

You can learn the easy way or the hard way…and one of the first things to know is that there

are no accidents.

God refines you in the midst of your crisis. “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have

tested you in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10 (NIV). He reworks the rough edges and

polishes off your shortcomings and your dysfunctions through pain so that you can be used for

His glory in a future season. God never wastes a hurt and He does not waste your pain. If your

heart and your mind are open to what He is about in your life, you will soon discover that there

are no accidents. Our lives are part of a grand design. This season may be the worst of times for

you and how you feel but it can also be the best of times if you use it to draw closer to God.

This season may be the worst of times for you and how you feel but it can also be the best of

times if you use it to draw closer to God.

God is in the miracle business. He reaches down into the muck and yuck – the shortcomings,

dysfunctions and ugliness of your life. If you seek him while you are in pain, you will find Him

and He will heal you and help you grow. You will be able to see Him, see your part in the

problems and see what He wants you to learn. Then, you will begin to discover the purpose for

this season and for your life.

God never wastes a hurt and He does not waste your pain.
