“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by

evading it today.”
–Abraham Lincoln
Our future, and that of our children, is in peril. While the future can seem far away and
the consequences of present action, or inaction a distant threat, the future truly is now.
We have a responsibility to act for our planet, our societies and for each other. This urgent
need for action to secure our future is the motivating factor for our poster exhibition.

The soul of a great poster is a call to action. In Future Now!, 51 international designers
were invited to create a new poster that addresses one of the United Nations 17 goals to
transform our world through sustainable development.

Posters Without Borders is proud to join forces with the World Design Organization (WDO)
to promote the Future Now! exhibition. We are grateful to the WDO for their support and
efforts towards a sustainable future.

About Posters Without Borders

Posters Without Borders began in 2013 as an biennial international invitational poster
exhibition on the subject of immigration organized by Erin Wright, Professor of Art at the
University of Alabama at Birmingham; Antonio Castro, Associate Professor of Art at the
University of Texas at El Paso and Eric Boelts of Brain Bolts Design in Boulder, Colorado.
The exhibitions have toured the United States, Mexico, Bolivia and now India. Every
two years 50 designers from around the world are invited to participate on topics like
immigration, voting rights, social responsibility and for the 2019 edition – sustainability.
