Frontier Wars

What happened in the event?
Fighting happened across the Liverpool
Plains and New South Wales. This fighting
left 2,500 British Soldiers and 40,000
Aboriginals dead. During these wars
multiple massacres happened including the
Nyall Creek massacre.
Who was involved in the event?
The people who were involved were British
Soldiers and Aboriginals. The names of all
of the tribes involved are Eora, Dharug,
Gandangara, Tharabal, Wiradjuri, Winnarua,
Gamilaroi, Gunditjmara, Palawa, Noongar
and Jagera. The estimated total amount of
people involved with these wars is 750,000.
What were the causes of the event?
The frontier wars were started due to both the
Aboriginals and the British wanted land to keep
their sheep and cows in. this ultimately resulted
in the start of the frontier wars. During this
some of the Aboriginals raided farms until
General Maquarie called troops away.

What were the effects of this event?
One effect of this event was that 2,500 British
soldiers died and 40,000 Aboriginals died.
During the frontier wars multiple massacres
happened. The amount of animals that died
during these wars is unknown.
When did the event occur?
The event started in May 1788 and ended in
1939. These wars lasted for 55, 150 days
1,812 months, and 151 years. This means that
265 Aboriginals and 16 British soldiers died
every year due to these wars. The Australian
population grew by 5.75 million between
1788 and 1939.
