iPhone 13 Will Change The Way We Think About Phones

Everyone uses a smartphone these days and it is becoming powerful day by day. First, it was used
only for calls, and today, it has powers like that of a computer. The power of smartphones is growing
exponentially. iPhone 12 was really a game-changer for the phone industry with its A14 Bionic chip.
The chip is based on 5nm and the small size of the transistor has improved battery life and
performance at the same time. Now, the real shock is going to come in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14
series.

Let us analyze how A15 and A16 are going to be game-changer in the phone industry. The real power
of any phone truly depends on its chip. That’s why we analyze A15 and A16 chips to test the power
of iPhone 13 and 14. For many of you who may be expecting that the A15 Bionic chip will be 3nm, I
have bad news for you. TSMC has confirmed that 3nm chip will not start mass manufacturing until
the second half of 2022. So, iPhone 14 may have a 3nm chip but sadly, iPhone 13 will use a 5nm chip
with some improvements.

The 3nm chipset, which is now probably coming in iPhone 14 models, is said to have a smaller
footprint while offering an 11% performance increase along with increased power efficiency as it will
take 27% less power as compared to the 5nm chipset. So, iPhone 14 will truly be a game-changer for
the phone industry and the phone may last for up to nearly a week. But that does not mean the A15
chip which will be used in making iPhone 13 is rubbish. It will have certain improvements and will
have more transistors than A14 Bionic.

A14 upgrade to A15 will be just like an upgrade of A12 to A13. The design will be more of the same,
with just some increase in the number of transistors. A14 Bionic has around 13 billion transistors
while A15 is expected to have around 14 billion transistors. Apple has placed an order of 100 million
A15 bionic chips to TSMC.

Geek bench 5 measures the performance of your device by performing tests that are representative
of real-world tasks and applications. Higher scores are better, with double the score indicating
double the performance. A15's single-core Geek Bench 5 is around 1800, which is 75% faster than
Snapdragon 888 in Galaxy S21. A Geek bench 5 multi-core score might be about 4800. Though that
might be a little high, it is expected to be 4600 at the least. This is embarrassing for Android phones
as their score is just 3000. That’s really embarrassing and shameful for Android phones as the
performance gap between Android and Apple products will increase exponentially. I mean 75%
difference is way too much. But don’t get worried right away. Apple is winning the race because they
have new cutting-edge technology. But within 2-3 years other companies will quickly copy the
technology and they will also have phones similar in power to the iPhone. Time will tell.
