New System and Hardware Requirements

Important Enhancements
 Improved failed ENC detection

The firmware now detects errors in SATA drive address information within the
ENC hardware to block the failed ENC.

 Improved failed controller detection

The firmware now detects controller access operations that could cause
hardware failures to block both controllers. This improvement limits the
blocked controller to the one that experiences the failure, thereby avoiding an
array outage.

 Improved avoidance of ENC blocks

The firmware now ignores commands to the ENC from a controller that are
aborted due to a controller failure, thereby preventing ENC blocks.

 Improved drive diagnosis

Failure drive detection capabilities have been improved to identify a drive that
experiences response delays based on the average response time among 3
drives or more of a RAID group, preventing a drive from becoming blocked.

 Improved backend diagnosis

Backend diagnosis has been improved to prevent the firmware from blocking
a normal ENC when the backend diagnosis does not detect failed parts due to
a controller intermittent error.

 Improved LU format processing

The performance of LU formatting has been improved during high-load host

I/Os for RAID1 or RAID1+0 with SAS or solid-state drives.

 Improved Web server security

To improve security, information on the storage system’s Web (HTTP) server

is concealed. Now the server identification information in the response
messages from the Web server appears as "XX..XX".
