GOAL : To improve the ability to perceive differences in designs and imitate the use of materials
to copy the designs
MATERIALS: 10 blocks
Procedure:
Sit with the child at the table
Keep five blocks in front of the child and keep the other five blocks for
yourself
Establish attending skills by calling his name and saying “look”.
Arrange your block in a clearly distinguishable pattern.
Make sure he is watching as you arrange the blocks
Redirect his attention to the completed pattern
Point to his block and say “ do this” or “copy this”
At first you will need to guide his hands to arrange the blocks properly.
Repeat the procedure with three different patterns each session.
