Dear Student

ASSESSMENT CHANGES for 2021 ACADEMIC YEAR

Due to the ministerial request to extend the 2021 registration dates, Unisa had to amend both the
semester dates and the assessment arrangements for the 2021 academic year.

During 2021 we will have only one semester and only one tuition and assessment period.

The purpose of this TL001 is to inform you of the new assessment requirements for module
MNG2601 for students registered during 2021 for the one semester period.

There are four parts to this online assignment.

Part A: Declaration form

Part C: Application questions based on the Pick n Pay (available online under the
Assignment 1 – 3 lesson)
Part D: Application questions based on the COVID-19 case study (available online under
the Assignment 1 – 3 lesson)

1.3 The examination

For MNG2601 the online examination will be completed in two sessions over two days. This
allows students with other commitments (either personal or work-related) to complete the
examination in shorter sections rather than needing a long period available for the entire
examination. This is especially beneficial to students who are unable to take study leave. The
examination sessions will however overlap, therefore if you wish to write both sessions in one day
you will be able to do so.

The online examination comprises 70 multiple-choice questions (35 questions per session),
ranging from direct theoretical and matching questions to application questions based on case
studies. Each of the 70 questions is worth one mark. Both sessions will cover all the learning
units.

Two self-assessment assignments and a mock exam will be available during the semester. The
purpose of the self-assessment assignments is to prepare you for the types of question you can
expect in the formative assessments. Similarly, the mock examination aims to prepare you for the
types of question to be expected in the examination.
5
The self-assessments and the mock exam are for REVISION purposes only and do not count
towards a year mark or final mark.
