DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DMS)

Generally we can attach document by service icon but in this way the document will be store in local
server in sap so storage will be full .

But in DMS we can maintain the data other server that is called as content server .

Example : Suppose a user want to insert 10 diagram inside the equipment then the user will take 10
time for upload all the 10 diagram . But in DMS method we can add all the 10 diagram at a time in
CV01N then that we can easily add in the equipment .

Example2:Suppose there are two equipment and user want to add same diagram in both of the
equipment so it will take time but by DMS method we can add the document number in both of the
equipment .

In this method we can add our diagram in all the master data and transaction data

But in DMS method we can add the document in equipment , Functional location , BOM
,notification , maintenance order , Task list operation , Order operation etc.
Choose the operation and click prt here we can get document option .

For Task list :

DMS in order :
Status will flow in cv01n as per this configuration

I can make the documents against this document types in cv01n against only for those object and
that object will flow
And I can only attach this document only in those above object

After attach the document in the equipment and functional location through dms a a dms symbol
will be show besides the description of equipment .
