1. Fluidity: The ability of a substance to flow easily.

2. Melting point: The temperature at which a solid on heating changes into a liquid.

3. Boiling point: The temperature at which a liquid changes into a gas. The boiling point
of water is 100⁰C.

4. Freezing point: The temperature at which a liquid on cooling changes into a solid. The
freezing point of water is 0⁰C.

5. Evaporation: The process by which a liquid changes into a gas at any temperature
below its boiling point is called evaporation.

6. Condensation: The process by which a gas on cooling changes into a liquid is called
condensation.

7. Sublimation: The process by which a solid substance changes into a vapour (gas)
without changing into the liquid state.

8. Deposition: The process by which a gas changes directly to a solid without going
through the liquid state.

9. Element: An element is a pure substance that is made from a single type of atom. e.g.,
Oxygen

10.Compound: A compound is a substance formed when two or more elements combine.


e.g., Water is made of hydrogen and oxygen.
