In Christ alone my hope is found, Song 1: Psalm 100 (Tune: Old 100th)
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground, All people that on earth do dwell,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm. Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, Him serve with mirth; His praise forth tell;
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! Come ye before Him and rejoice.
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand. Know that the Lord is God indeed;
Without our aid, He did us make.
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
We are His flock; He doth us feed,
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness And for His sheep He doth us take.
Scorned by the ones he came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died, O enter then His gates with praise;
The wrath of God was satisfied - Approach with joy His courts unto.
For every sin on Him was laid; Praise, laud, and bless His name always,
Here in the death of Christ I live. For it is seemly so to do.
There in the ground His body lay For why? The Lord our God is good;
Light of the world by darkness slain: His mercy is forever sure.
Then bursting forth in glorious Day His truth at all times firmly stood,
Up from the grave he rose again!
And shall from age to age endure.
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
