Child Labour vs Downtown

Child labor is a child under the legal working age who is employed prematurely. In Indonesia,
the legal working age is 15 years and more than that, those under 15 are not recommended to
work. people who employ kids can be subject to criminal punishment. Child labor is usually
carried out in areas where there are many poor people in industrialized areas. Child labor has its
pros and cons in various countries, there are also countries that legalize child labor, for example,
Bolivia and Senegal which have the highest rates of child labor in the world.

Child labor must be avoided in the world because it can have an impact on the development of
personality, mentality at work, knowledge, etc. affecting their work performance, especially if
they are given jobs that have heavy responsibilities. Not to mention, heavy work can interfere
with the physical, mental and social development and health of children. parents should pay for
their children's lives and the government should pay more attention to the mental and future of
children. In Indonesia, child labor is illegal under the law and also in Indonesia, many children
drop out of school due to work, which affects the quality of education in Indonesia and also the
person who gives work to children should be given severe punishment.

In the same way, not all work done by children should be classified as child labour that is to be
targeted for elimination. Children’s or adolescents’ participation in work that does not affect
their health and personal development or interfere with their schooling, is generally regarded as
being something positive. This includes activities such as helping their parents around the home,
assisting in a family business or earning pocket money outside school hours and during school
holidays. These kinds of activities contribute to children’s development and to the welfare of
their families; they provide them with skills and experience, and help to prepare them to be
productive members of society during their adult life.

to sun up. child labor has positive and negative impacts, children can improve their skills by
working and the negative is when they do very heavy work it will hinder the growth and
development of children and disrupt the process of their maturation, child labor has an age limit
of 15 years but in law Articles 69, 70, and 71 discuss exceptions to explain exceptions for
children aged 13-15 years being allowed to do light work as long as it does not interfere with
physical, mental and social development and health. work that is part of the education or
training curriculum and children can do work to develop their talents and interests. I hope that
children all over the world get their right to play and grow up well with the help of good adults
around them.
