KARIMUNJAWA ISLAND
The Karimunjawa Islands are a group of 27 tropical
islands in the Java Sea incorporated into the District of
Jepara in Indonesia. It is located 80 km north of the
city Jepara in Central Java. The islands’ name means
“a stone’s throw” in Javanese. It is for sure not a
stone’s throw away from the mainland. The best time
to visit the islands is during the dry season, generally
speaking from April to October.
If you love to escape the typical touristic
places and try to look for a quiet destination, then
Karimunjawa is perfect (for now). The best thing about
the Karimunjawa Islands is that they are still not very
known among travelers. For instance, Lonely
Planet just recently started to mention them at all.

named Sidi Mantra. Her son’s name was Manik
Angkeran. Manik Angkeran liked to gamble. One day,
Manik Angkeran could not pay the debt. He asked help
to father.
Loving his son, Sidi Mantra fasted then prayed to the
God. A mysterious voice asked him to meet Naga
Besukih at Agung Mount. By ringing a genta, Naga
Besukih came and gave gold as well as diamonds from
his scales. Soon, Manik Angkeran finished all gold and
diamonds. He asked help to his father again. Sidi
Mantra came to Naga Besukih. This time, Manik
Angkeran secretly followed Sidi Mantra.
A few days later, Manik Angkeran stole father’s genta
then came to Naga Besukih. Manik Angkeran got gold
and diamonds. But he was not satisfied. Manik
Angkeran saw a big gem at the end of dragon’s tail.
When Naga Besukih turned toward a cave, Manik
Angkeran immediately cut off dragon’s tail then ran
away.
Naga Besukih was furious then licked Manik
Angkeran’s footprints. Then he turned into ashes. Sidi
Matra was aware of this situation; he begged Naga
Besukih to revive his son. Naga Besukih agreed if his
tail was back. With magic, Sidi Mantra returned
dragon’s tail back to normal. Then, Naga Besukih
revived Manik Angkeran.
Sidi Mantra knew that he could not live with Manik
Angkeran anymore. With a magical wand, Sidi Mantra
made a line that separated him from son. There came
springs growing into a sea. This is the legend of Bali
Strait separating Java from Bali.

Long time ago, there was a beautiful Javanese
princess, Rara Jonggrang, who lived with her father
Prabu Baka, an evil king.
One day, a handsome young man with super
natural power named Bandung Bondowoso
defeated and killed Prabu Baka. Bandung
Bondowoso fell in love with Rara Jonggrang and
wanted to marry her.
Princess Rara Jonggrang felt sad due to her
father’s death. She did not want to marry Bandung
because he had killed her father. But she was also
afraid of Bandung. Trying to refuse politely, she
told Bandung, “I will marry you but you have to
build one thousand temples in one night as a
wedding gift”. Bandung Bondowoso agreed with
the condition. Helped by the spirit of the demons,
Bandung Bondowoso started building the temples.
Approaching midnight, the work would nearly be
done.
Suddenly Rara Jonggrang got an idea. She woke
all the women in the palace up and ordered them to
make the sounds of grinding rice so that the roosters
thought that it had already been dawn. Bandung
Bondowoso got frustrated because he failed to
complete the last temple.
“The Princess has deceived me!” he cried following
his anger, he cursed Roro Jonggrang, “You have
cheated me. Now, the thousandth temple is you!”
At once, the Princess turned into a statue. From
then on, people called the temple, Prambanan

Lemon mint juice is a refreshing drink recipe. This Ingredients:

Bats have big ears, furry bodies and wings like
leather. They are nocturnal mammals. This means they
sleep in caves and attics during the day and fly out to
feed at night time.
Bats are the only mammals that can fly. They are
very fast acrobatics. When they chase after insects,
they twist and turn in mid-air. Bats use sound to catch
insects in the darkness. They send out high-pitched
squeals that human cannot hear. The echoes that
bounce back tell the bats exactly where they will find
their prey.
Flying foxes, or fruit bats, are large bats that live
in tropical Africa and Asia. They mainly eat fruit.
Flying foxes are important because they help to spread
the pollen and seeds of many plants.
Bats mate in the fall but give birth in the spring.
Many females store the male's sperm until spring,
others keep the fertilized egg from growing until then.
The advantage to fall mating has to do with the small
size of bats. Then the females give birth in the spring
when their food comes alive again.

Landslide
A landslide or landslip is a natural disaster, something which is unfortunately unavoidable. Landslides can
vary in size but usually they always involve a large ground movement. This can be things such as debris
and rock failing. A landslide can occur on shore or offshore and usually at coastal lines, but it is the
gravity that forces the debris and rocks to fall and for a total landslide to occur.
If an area has some pre conditional factors, it could help to build up a lot of problems, sub surface
problems and conditions from arising. The conditions could make the slope to continuously product

 Erosion – if this occurs, even just slightly, it can make some of the slope fall into oceans or rivers.
