MY GRANDPA
Mr.Ahmad is my grandpa. He is my dad’s father. He has been old, but he is
still strong enough for his age now. He is 70 years old.
My grandpa is a farmer with 3 hectares of rice field. He still manages his rice
fields by himself and helped by 8 workers. Although there are 8 workers, he goes
to the rice field every day and works together with them.
Besides working at the rice fields, my grandpa is a merchant. He has a
fertilizer shop with 2 employees. His shop is always busy. So, he must work hard
along the day after coming back from the field.
Actually, my dad and my uncle Mr. Joko, as his sons want him to pension
from his full activities, so he can enjoy his life but he doesn’t agree. He can’t stay
at home with doing nothing. Because of his activites, he always feels young.

his mother reminded him of having breakfast, but he refused. He was afraid of
being late. Bayu arrived at school only one minute before the bell rang. All students
walked towards the school yard. They would have a flag hoisting ceremony.

It was very hot and the sun shone very brightly. During the ceremony, Bayu felt
dizzy and his eyes were blurred. He tried to stand up still, but he could bot hold on.
He trembled and fainted.

Ki Hajar Dewantara

Ki Hajar Dewantara is well-known as the father of Indonesian Education. His real


name is Raden Mas Suwardi Suryaningrat. When he was 40 years old, he changed his
name into Ki Hajar Dewantara. He was born in Yogyakarta, on May 2, 1889. Then, his
birth date is commemorated as National Education Day..
Ki Hajar Dewantara went to ELS school which was the primary school of
Netherlands. Then, he continued his study to STOVIA, a medical school for the native of
Indonesia. But, during his study at STOVIA, he was sick so that he couldn’t finish it. Ki
Hajar Dewantara had ever worked as a journalist in many popular printed media at that
time, such as Mideen Java, Sedyotomo, De Ekpress, Kaoem Moeda, Poesara, Oetoesan
Hindia, dan Tjahaja Timoer. His writings in those various media were very
communicative and critical. Therefore, those could burn the spirit of the society.
After colonial period and Indonesia reached its Independence, he was trusted to be the
minister of culture and education. Ki Hajar Dewantara was be very active and concerned
with the world of education. One of the proofs of it. He also established the
School Grounds Students in 1922.
He gave the example of and motivation to young people to keep passion in learning
about science. One of the motivational words of Ki Hajar Dewantara which until now still
inherent in the minds of all of us, namely: “Tut wuri handayani” ing ngarsa sung tulada,
ing madya mangun karsa, tut wuri handayani.

A donkey and a rabbit were good friends. One evening, they were looking
for some food. After walking for some time, they finally found a watermelon
field. After making sure that there was nobody around, they went into the field.
The donkey directly ate a juicy watermelon. He finished it quickly. Then, he
recklessly went to another watermelon, and ate it. He ate a lot of watermelons until
he felt full. “Oh, I feel like I want to sing a song,” said the donkey merrily. “No!
You are going to wake the farmer” warned the rabbit.
But the reckless donkey did not listen to the rabbit. It started to sing a
song loudly. Knowing that he could not stop the donkey, the rabbit left him alone
in the watermelon field.

Steps :

1. Slice a large ripe mango in half.

accompanied by the spirit of the dead man. After a few adventures the prince got
everything he needed with the help of the spirit of the dead man. He returned with the
bird, a flying horse, and a princess.
His two brothers were so jealous to know the successful effort of the young
prince. On the way, the two brothers caught him and threw him over a cliff and
claimed responsibility for finding the bird, the flying horse and the princess. But the
young prince was lucky because his coat was caught on a branch on the cliff side. He
returned to the palace, saved his father, and married the princess.
