TRAINING DESIGN

Title: Digital Communication Skills Training: Bridging Digital Gap in Remote Learning

Proponent/s: Andrea Steff O. Gella

Venue: Violeta Malaybalay City, Barangay Gym

Participants: Highschool and college students

Duration: 5 days, 1 hour session per day

Rationale: To raise students' digital competence by incorporating digital skills in remote learning
and ensuring that no students in the community are left behind in the transition towards the
digital economy.

Training components:

Although confronted with unprecedented challenges, plenty of opportunities are still laid out by
the pandemic. Most of these lie behind the corners of our computers and phones. And English
which is deemed as the universal language continues to prosper from these digital platforms.
The workforce was also greatly affected by this pandemic. Rising to the occasion limitless jobs
can be found online and these jobs often require English as a skill. The swift transition from
traditional to online learning also left students with no option but to thrive despite the uncertainty.
There is an obvious link between these aspects because students will soon explore industries of
this kind. Because of this, an initiative needs to take part to step up the game. Initially, the
proponent will take time to research professional speakers. This training will specifically delve
into teaching students with digital communication skills including creativity, collaboration, and
adaptability in facing online learning. This training also covers communication tips to help
students thrive and communicate effectively in the digital universe. This training program also
aspires to teach socio-emotional skills for students to have self-awareness, self-management,
and responsible decision making.

Expected Outputs:

At the end of this training, the participants will be able to acquire basic hard skills and digital soft
communication skills. The 5-day training will also offer a chance for participants to exhibit their
creativity and communication skills through an activity assessment.

Implementing Strategy/ies:

This training program will incorporate Classroom Style Training since i t is familiar, relatively easy
to manage, and accessible for participants.  Hands-on Training strategy will also be adapted.
This type of training works well because participants get the first-hand experience that makes
them confident in their works.
