PROJECT REFLECTION Saladino – EDU 214

Student Name:   Kylie Pratt

Date: 7/18/21

Artifact Description: Web Launchpad – A collection of student resources and activities

What you learned:

While working on this project I found myself looking back to the websites I used in
school. A few of them have upgraded but some looked exactly the same. It was
especially important to me to have a variety of resources so that every student would be
able to select something they are interested in. I knew I needed a math, reading, and
science resource and them I broadened my searches from there. I had fun designing
the page with all the sites including games, articles, or videos I want the sites to be fun
and academic. The topics and difficulty levels are gears towards 5 th-7th graders.

National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS)•S Addressed:

The standard that this project addresses is 1b: Students build networks and customize
their learning environments in ways that support the learning process
Application of Skills Learned for the Future:
Launch pads like this one can have so many uses in the classroom. Teachers can make
them for holding websites for free time, like I did or imbed links into their daily schedules
to use with the students. Teachers can take a poll and collect data to see which
websites students like to visit the most and what subjects they want to know more
about. Students can use the resources presented to them to explore their interests and
find or develop a community of friends who are interested in the same subjects.
