PROJECT REFLECTION Saladino – EDU 214

Student Name:   Kylie Pratt

Date: 7/25/21

Artifact Description:

MCD Spreadsheet and Fries Reflection- Using various facts about McDonalds and their
food create 3 spreadsheets with graphs accurately portraying the company information.

What you learned:

This project made me a bit nervous at first because I have never used Excel and was
very unsure on how to do formulas or insert a graph. I looked up different YouTube
videos on how to insert graphs making sure they used the correct information. Excel is a
very user friendly program. Once I knew the information, and directions on one type of
graph I was able to transfer it to the other graphs I needed.

National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS)•S Addressed:

The student standard addressed in this project was 3c: Students curate information
from digital resources using a variety of tools and methods to create collections of
artifacts that demonstrate meaningful connections or conclusions.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future:
I will definitely use these skills in the future. For teachers knowing how to use Excel is I
believe essential to record keeping. Students can use this program to make charts and
graphs. It would be a great addition to a math class or personal finance class to
evaluate finances and learn about budgeting. The use of charts and graphs is a great
component that can be used in science class. The graphs in excel can be copied and
pasted into word documents and other programs for presentations, experiment
workbooks, or budget portfolios.
