Dear colleagues,
Indonesian Society of Petroleum Geologists (ISPG) is a sub-organization of
Indonesian Association of Geologists (IAGI) which focuses on petroleum and gas
industry. Our organization aims at promoting welfare and educating the professional
lives of Indonesian petroleum geologists in particular and Indonesian nation in
general.
One of our missions is to actively conduct research forum to gather knowledge and
linkage from university, research center and industry. The first three Research Forum
has been started from 2017. It was continue in 2018 and 2019 with different topics.
This event was break in 2020 due to Covid19 pandemic situation. As continuity of
this program, the 4th ISPG Research Forum will be held in April 2021 thru online
system.
This year, ISPG bring topics Recognizing Indonesia's Geoscience Challenge which
aligned with Government Goal in 2030 to produce 12 BCFD and 1MBOPD. Hopefully
this event can give contribution to achieve targeted plan.
Therefore, we would like to invite our geoscientist colleagues and friends (geologist,
geophysicist, geochemist) to join in our event “ISPG Research Forum”. We believe
that by delivering excellent technical knowledge sharing program & high quality of
paper research summary through ISPG research forum, it will help and support our
thought to Indonesian government especially in energy sector. Finally, I hope the
output of the ISPG Research Forum will give impact and contribution to petroleum
geology Indonesian communities.

Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the committees, thank you in advance for taking part and giving
tremendous contributions in succeeding the 4th ISPG Research Forum 2021. This
would be a series of events that consists of pre, main, and post events that aimed
to create the biggest petroleum geoscience discussion platform in conjunction to
support the knowledge transfer between the researchers, industrial professionals,
and academia.
The Indonesian Society of Petroleum Geologists (ISPG) is a subsidiary organization
of the Indonesian Association of Geologists (IAGI) that is always watchful and
open to any energy issues related to national and global energy needs, particularly
in the oil and gas sectors. The previous three events have been successfully held
with different advanced research themes that continuously related to petroleum
geoscience's latest problems and ideas.
As we come back this year, the 4th ISPG Research Forum will be conducted
virtually with the theme of “Recognizing Indonesia's Geoscience Challenges:
Towards 12 BSCFPD and 1 MMBOPD in 2030” as a contribution to support the
government to achieve the long term targeted production plan. Several intriguing
discussions will be held to broaden our vision and sharpen our technical
knowledge through 4 big plans and strategies, including massive exploration
activities, transforming resources to production, promoting more enhanced oil
recovery projects, and routine well work activities to maintain the production
decline.

Through this opportunity, we are very delighted to invite you to join us as a part of
the advancement of petroleum geoscience research ideas among researchers,
industry professionals, and academia. Hopefully, this event
will bring a massive impact and contribution further to
national energy security, and moreover, to bring
forward the petroleum geoscience learnings
among university students.

 Background
Oil and gas is one of the energies that has a very strategic role in various sectors
such as public life and the economy. The World Energy Agency noted that world
energy demand will continue to increase by 45% until 2030, and about 80% of this
energy demand is fossil fuels.

In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is gifted with abundant natural resources. Oil and gas
resources, which are estimated to reach 87,22 billion barrels and 594,43 TSCF, are
spread across 60 sedimentary basins, 38 of which have been explored, and the rest
have not been explored at all.

To answer the challenges of national energy needs, the Indonesian government

has set 4 main strategies in an effort to achieve a long-term production target of 12
BSCF gas and 1 million barrels of oil per day by 2030. These strategies include
prioritizing exploration strategies, encouraging and campaign enhanced oil recovery
(EOR), accelerate the transformation of potential resources into lifting, and curb the
rate of decline in natural production.

As a subsidiary of the IAGI organization in the field of petroleum geology, ISPG is

always alert and open to issues related to national and world energy needs,
particularly oil and natural gas energy. This year, ISPG held the 4th research forum

with the theme “Recognising Indonesia’s Geoscience Challenges:

Towards 12 BSCFPD and 1 MMBOPD in 2030”. The 4th ISPG
Research Forum was held as one of the efforts to support the government targets in
2030.

 Series of Event

ISPG Talk - The Series will be held every week from the first
week of February until first week of April 2021 with the target
participants are students, professionals, practitioners, and
ISPG Talk – The Series academics. The topic of ISPG Talk - The Series is aligned with the
(Pre-Event)
theme of the ISPG Research Forum 2021 so that it is hoped that the
participants can better understand the goals of the government to
achieve along with the strategies and steps that will be taken
regarding oil and gas production target 2030.

Student competition is a series of ISPG Research Forum 2021

events that go hand in hand with ISPG Talk - The Series in the Pre-
Event. Student competition will be held in the second week of
February until second week of April 2021. The main target of
participants in this student competition is students, in which a team

(Pre-Event) is required to consist of more than a university, which aims to
increase the spirit of collaboration and synergy. The series of
student competitions begins with a workshop / technical meeting,
data analysis, producing output in the form of a report, and ends
with a final presentation and announcement of winners at the main
event of the ISPG Research Forum 2021.
 Series of Event

ISPG Research Forum is the main event that will be held in

the second week of April, on 6th – 8th April 2021. The topic
of main event is adjusted to the big theme of the ISPG Research
Forum 2021. The event will begin with an opening, followed by a
ISPG Research Forum panel discussion, presentation and announcement of student
(Main Event)
competition winners, and technical paper presentations. The
technical paper presentation will be conducted virtually by
playing a pre-recorded presentation with a maximum duration of
20 minutes, and will be followed by a 5 minutes live discussion
between the presenter and the forum.

The workshop will be held in the third week until fourth

academics (students and lecturers), and oil and gas industry

1. All sponsorship amounts are net amounts. No additional tax will be

applied.

2. An invoice will be issued by ISPG

3. Sponsorship opportunities will be processed in the order in which they are

received.

4. Invoice will be sent upon receipt of sponsorship commitment form.

5. Registration for the event is not included in the sponsorship fee.

6. Sponsor have to send a high-resolution logo for ISPG to publish their logo on
