HVAC PLC OPERATION INSTRUCTION

1 .General Description
The PLC has two functions of cooling and heating according as temperature of outside air. The
function can be achieved by setting parameter.
NOTICE:
1) However, the supply fan of AHU must be run before starting cooling or heating,
otherwise the PLC can be activated.
2) The pressure of cooling water must be higher enough than the setting value when we
run the cooling function,. Because the system needs to be cooled well when the cooling
system runs, so it needs enough water to go into the condenser.
2.Function Description:
2.1 Cooling function: the main or auxiliary compressor is selected according setting
temperature of stopping compressor, if the setting temperature of A compressor is lower than
B compressor, A compressor is main machine, B compressor is auxiliary. For example: A
compressor setting:23℃:（off）,25℃ （on）, B compressor: 25℃（off ）,27℃ （on）,
that means the A compressor will run when the temperature is higher than 25℃, it will stop
when the temperature is lower than 23℃. the B compressor will run when the temperature is
higher than 27℃, it will stop when the temperature is lower than 25℃. So the running time of
A compressor is longer than B compressor. Of cause the A compressor is the main machine.
2.2 Setting description of compressor 1: setting temperature of stopping is 23℃, setting
temperature of starting is 25℃. The setting temperature of stopping or starting can be reset by
customer according as their real requirement.
Setting description of compressor 2: setting temperature of stopping is 25℃, setting
temperature of starting is 27℃. The setting temperature of stopping or starting can be reset by
customer according as their real requirement.
NOTICE: when the compressors stop duo to the setting temperature, it can‟t run within 3
minutes even the temperature is higher than setting temperature of starting.
2.3 Setting description of main heater
When the temperature of outside air is lower than 10℃,the heating signal will be released.
When the client need to run the heating system, please run the supply fan at first, then the PLC
will adjust electrical valve automatically according as temperature of supply air, the regulation
way is PID.
2.4 Setting description of accommodation heater:
This function can be used in summer and in winter:
In summer, there are two air systems in summer, one is cooled air, Another one is warm air for
accommodation. This function can control the temperature for warm air system. the design
temperature is 21℃. The client can set the temperature by theirselves according as their
requirement.
In winter, the two systems are hot air, if the customer want to get the higher temperature air for
accommodation, can reset the temperature of supply air, the supply air can be reheated. The client
can set the temperature by theirselves according as their requirement.

2.5 Setting description of wheelhouse heater: in winter the setting maximum temperature is
27℃,when the temperature arrives at 27℃,the solenoid valve will be shut off, the setting
minimum temperature is 25℃,when the temperature arrives at 25℃, the solenoid valve will be
opened. The setting temperature can be reset by customer according as their real requirement.

2.6 Setting humidifying description: the PLC will release the humidifying signal when the
temperature of outside air is lower than 5℃. The range of humidifying will be controlled by
humidifying controller.

3.Operation instruction
3.1 run the compressors automatically :
Notice: PLC has already been set into automatic operation.
Turn the 9K1 relay into automatic position (9k1 is for compressor1).
Turn the 9K2 relay into automatic position (9k2 is for compressor2).
Turn the switch of compressor 1 on, compressor 1will be started.
Turn the switch of compressor 2 on, compressor2 will be started.
3.2 close the compressors from automatic running:
Turn off the switch of the compressor1, compressor1 will be closed.
Turn off the switch of the compressor 2, compressor 2 will be closed.
3.3 run the compressor by handle
Notice: this function is only for commissioning engineer
Turn the 9K1 relay into handle position (9k1 is for compressor1).
Turn the 9K2 relay into handle position (9k2 is for compressor2).
Turn the switch of compressor 1 on, compressor 1will be started.
Turn the switch of compressor 2 on, compressor2 will be started.
3.4 close the compressor by handle
Notice: this function is only for commissioning engineer
Turn the switch of compressor 1 off, compressor 1will be closed.
Turn the switch of compressor 2 off, compressor2 will be closed.
3.5 temperature setting and other function of PLC:

This function is only for commissioning engineer or professional person, need the keywords to
enter into operation system, the operation procedure is the following:
1) Press down HAND/AUTO bottom, The function of HAND displays, then can do the next
step.
2) when press down this bottom again, the function of HAND will be shut off, the function of
AUTO will display, the system will be controlled automatically.
NOTICE: THE COMPRESSOR CAN „T BE RUN FREQUENTLY !

Operation Instruction:
In the menu of hand, set the opened percent at first, then press down “off” bottom, the menu

display “ON”, The valve will be opened slowly, until opened into setting percent. Press down this
bottom again, the menu displays “OFF”, the valve will be closed slowly.
