PROGRAMS/TEACHING
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Learning will never the mind so as teaching will never
exhaust the heart. In this time of pandemic, several teaching
strategies were being discovered such as:

 Online Softwares (Jeopardy Labs, Phet.com, Desmos,

Algebra Tiles, Geogebra, etc)
 The use of Drawing Pad for explaining math solutions to the
students.
 Synchronous Sessions (MWF Schedule zoom sessions for
students in order to help them understand the lessons).
 TLC – LMS (both synchronous and asynchronous sessions,
guided by different videos and varieties of activities. )
 Group Chats (GCs have been created for students if they
have some questions whether in LMS or Messenger).
 Canva (for lessons and design of LMS).
ASSESSMENT
STRATEGIES
Assessment is defined as a process of gathering data to better
understand the strengths and weaknesses of student learning
(Harris and Hodges, 1995). Here are some of the assessment
strategies I used this school year.

 The use of TLC – LMS (I used the different ways whenever I

conduct assessments, since Math Department follows
Game-based learning, I use lesson or quiz. And under quiz
there are different types like True or False, Multiple choice,
and other forms for formative assessments to quarterly
exams).
 Quizlet
 Quizziz
FINDINGS AND RESULTS OF
INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENTS
Corona Virus is a group of viruses that is the main root of
diseases like cough, cold, sneezing, fever, and some
respiratory sympotoms (WHO, 2019). The influence of the
COVID – 19 pandemic on the education system leads to
schools and colleges closure or temporarily unavailable
worldwide. Bridge (2020) reported that schools and colleges
are moving towards educational technologies for student
learning to avoid a strain during the pandemic season. The
Lewis adopt the new normal for education system. The school
developed the TLC – Learning Management system where
both students and teachers use the online platform to avoid
interruption of learning and teaching.
FINDINGS AND RESULTS OF
INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENTS
As students adopting to this change, I’m not surprised how
performances of students were affected. Some students
struggle LMS at first but eventually they learn how to do it.
However, students seldom to attend online classes because of
so many factors (such as low internet connection, availability
of gadgets and etc). Based on the assessments’ analysis, there
were few students who got passing score for both Grade 7
and 8, more or less than 50% of the students got the passing
scores. Several activities and remediation were given to the
students however, not all can participate. But I understand the
fact that since online class is new for students, it is just normal
for their performances to be affected. That is why, it is for us,
teachers, to make learning fun and not hard for students
especially this time of pandemic.
COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS, AND
RECOMMENDATIONS
According to research, here are the possible factors that
affects student’s performance:

 Course Design
 Instructor Quality
 Prompt Feedback
 Students’ expectations

Hence, it is our job to do everything and give best quality for

our students. It is highly recommended for to participate to
different kind of trainings and seminars for us to be equipped
with knowledge and skills for online teaching. Teaching
mathematics (not just only mathematics) may be hard at this
time but may we learn to adopt this change little by little and
still maintain the school’s vision towards education.
