CONSTRUCTION OF 6-UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK WITH ANCILLARY FACILITY
AT ASSOCIATION SCHOOL, LABONE
REQUEST FOR REVISION OF RATES

We wish to bring to your attention for consideration in respect of the rates and current market
prices of construction materials and labour for the above-stated project which commenced in
November 2019. The market prices of materials needed for the works have increased drastically
as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the delay of payment for works done. This has
therefore made the execution of the project very difficult.

We understand the urgency in terms of completing the project on time to serve its thoughtful
purpose. We are of the view that a revision of the rates will enhance our speed in completing the
project timely and without too much financial stress.

Few examples indicating price increment includes the cost of Ghacem cement from Gh₵ 38.00
to Gh₵ 48.00. The price of paint has also increased drastically. A louvre blade which was then
sold at Gh₵4.00 is now sold at Gh₵8.00.
We are by this letter humbly pleading for the adjustment of the contract sum to make room for
the smooth execution and completion of the project.
