INSIGHT PAPER 3

All the concepts and topics discussed by Group 3 were very useful and helpful to
us as educators especially in this new generation and new normal education. The first
topic which was about communicating information through the internet and other
technologies which are very significant in our job for technology are already part of our
daily lives as teachers. We have various methods of communication available and ways
to easily communicate but we have just to be responsible users of it since there are
several disadvantages it brings. We can also share it to our pupils, their parents and as
well as to our colleagues the responsible use of technology. As advances in technology
drive globalization and digital transformation, teachers can help students acquire the
necessary skills to succeed in the careers of the future. The effective use of digital
learning tools in classrooms can increase student engagement, help teachers improve
their lesson plans, and facilitate personalized learning. It also helps students build
essential 21st-century skills. Still, it is important to note that technology is a tool used in
education and not an end in itself. The promise of educational technology lies in what
educators do with it and how it is used to best support their students’ needs. It is also
essential to communicate information through visuals because we learned the most and
retained information when we see it.
Another significant learning for me from the lesson today was the proper citation
and documentation of sources. It is very important to document sources to avoid
plagiarism. As an educator who pursued professional growth and development and
enrolled in Master of Arts in Education, I should exercise proper citation and
documentation of sources in my essays, critique paper, research paper, and other
papers which is part and required in this course. By correctly documenting, we establish
our credibility as a writer or researcher. We are letting our reader know that we have
consulted experts whose ideas and information back up our thoughts and ideas.
Consequently, we make our viewpoint or argument believable. I can also apply it in my
workplace in working with a lot of paperworks.
