HOW TO: Move the PowerCenter repository from the Domain database to a new database

Solution
If the same database schema is used for Domain and the Repository Service and if it is required to separate the repository and the domain tables to a separate
database schema, then take a backup/restore of the PowerCenter repository by following the below steps:

1. Logon to the PowerCenter Administration Console.

2. Disable all Integration Services associated with the Repository Service.
3. Enable the existing Repository Service in the Exclusive mode.
4. Backup the Repository Service using Actions > Backup Contents and confirm that the backup is successful.
5. Delete the contents of this repository using Actions > Delete contents.
6. Disable the Repository Service and remove it from the Administration Console using the red cross (X) button on the left pane.
7. Create a new Repository Service (preferably with the same name as before) without creating any contents and giving the new database schema details.
8. Enable the Repository Service and restore the contents of the repository that was backed up in the earlier steps by choosing Actions > Restore Contents.
9. Enable the Repository Service in Normal mode.
10. Enable all Integration Services.

More Information
This can also achieved through backup/restore of the Domain. However, this requires the shutdown of the Informatica Services.
