As someone who speaks both Spanish and English, I can relate to your writing.

I grew up
in ESL (English as a second language) until third grade. I focused so much on learning English
and assimilating that now both my English and Spanish struggle too. I love how you wrote about
your journey on learning English and the difficulties. Throughout your essay, I could see the
major improvement from first knowing little English to a university level English course! That is
insane. I was very satisfied.I think the writer's main claim from what I’ve seen is as an English
learner they’ve found it difficult to get help at home which is something I can relate to you. He
had good English teachers to guide them the right way. Even with covid, I can see that you’re
determined and ambitious. The question that pops into my brain when I read this essay is firstly,
was there a specific event that made you the writer you are today or was it just progress
throughout school? I Think the part where it mentioned why was elementary school? The
paragraphs are coherent. I would suggest using more loaded language perhaps use a thesaurus to
replace common words to make it stand out. I would also like to suggest using more transition
words within the paragraphs. I’d say when transitioning from one point to another is to use
things like “secondly” “thirdly” etc. Although there were some grammatical/punctuation errors,
it was very good. I would like to know how confident now you feel compared to when you first
started English? The center character is the author, his experience, his feelings, and his
assimilation.Throughout the essay I would like to know how eld helped you or how you
transitioned from eld to a “regular” English course? This would definitely be a writing I could
read. It’s something I can relate to. The author does use transitions in the beginning of
paragraphs, but there could be more with the paragraph to switch from topic and main points. I
hope this finds you well
