especially for the poor. Their food consists of
wheat, cereal, oats, and barley. They mostly
ate bread and stew. Since they didn’t have a
way to freeze the meat, they usually had
fresh meat and smoked the leftovers.

made a lot of people sickly. Nearly 30% of
Europe’s population was lost in this period. Death
rate was at an all-time high. It didn’t help that very
few people have education. They shied away from
knowledge and leaned towards superstitious
beliefs. Their medicines are primitive that it could
not protect them from infectious diseases. It also
did not help that the women were not allowed to
work which hindered their access to basic
necessities. Only men are allowed to have
education and secure a job. Most of them work as
peasants to feudal lords.
