CMS Wireline Entry Guide

The CMS WIRELINE ENTRY GUIDE (WEG) with half mule shoe is used for safe reentry of wireline tools
from the casing into the tubing string. Threaded on the top end only, the WEG attaches to the bottom end
of the production string and is designed with a beveled guide and a tubing compatible internal diameter.

Certain tools, such as tubing end locators or sample bailers, are designed to be run out of the end of
the tubing to perform their tasks. The wireline entry guide, with its internal profile, guides the wireline or
slickline tool string back into the tubing.

NOTE: Wireline Entry Guides (WEGs) are available in HMS (Half Muleshoe), FMS (Full Muleshoe) and “Bell”
(full bottom) configurations. HMS and FMS provide for option to rotate the tubing during deployment
and allows the WEG to minimize the risk of hanging up. The “Bell” type incorporates a larger OD and thus
minimizes the Casing ID/WEG OD gap and also provides a larger internal bevel for optimum re-entry.
