Water Park Safety

Lifeguards have the final authority on all safety issues!

For the safety of all Caribbean Cove guests, certified lifeguards are on duty during normal
operational hours. To ensure that all guests have an enjoyable and worry‐free
experience, please observe the following rules.

 Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times

 Younger children who require flotation devices must have an adult within arm’s reach at all times.
 Proper swim attire required in pools; cutoffs, gym shorts, provocative or thong swim wear is
not allowed.
Bathing attire with belts, buckles, rivets, grommets, or metal of any kind is not permitted.
 Do not enter the pool if you have a communicable disease or an open cut.
 The use of tobacco products is prohibited within the park and hotel.
 According to the state of Indiana, food is not permitted on the pool level. Food/beverage carry‐ins
are not permitted.
 Shower before entering the pool and after use of toilet facilities.
 For the safety of your child and all other guests, approved swim diapers and plastic pants
designed specifically for pool use are required to be worn by children not yet toilet trained.
 Animals are not permitted inside the water park at all.
 The use of all flotation devices and non‐US Coast Guard Approved life vests is strictly prohibited.
 Inflatables, squirt guns, hard balls (soccer balls, basketballs, etc) and snorkels are prohibited;
small toys permitted in the kiddie pool at lifeguards’ discretion.
 Hanging on any equipment, ropes, nets is not permitted, shoulder riding and excessive splashing is
prohibited
 Diving is absolutely prohibited in the water park
 Each pool’s personal set of rules are to be followed at all times. Signs are posted for the
convenience of all guests.
 General Safety Rules
o Running on deck is not permitted
o Pushing, dunking, shoulder riding, or other inappropriate behavior is not permitted
o Glass items are not permitted in the water park at all.
 Everyone should be in a tube when in the river. Guest’s may not hold on to tubes for the
day, they must give up their inner tube when they are done with the slide or the river.
 Lifeguards are in charge at all times. Adults in attendance may be requested to assist the
lifeguards/managers.
 Wristbands are color coded according to hotel guests or day pass guests. A $25 replacement
fee will be charged for lost wristbands.
o Tight and/or too loose wristbands requiring adjustments must be made in the area
that you received the wristband. (Front desk for hotel guests and the water park
cashier for day pass guests.)
Water Park Safety

Failure to follow the park rules will result in disciplinary action and possible water park dismissal
without a refund. Caribbean Cove Indoor Water Park is a family park. Profanity and/or abusive
language, consumption of large amounts of alcoholic beverages, or engaging in any inappropriate
acts will not be tolerated and will lead to the immediate dismissal of the guest from the park.
Safety/Conduct Policy

Because our goal is to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience of all guests, please review and
adhere to the following:

1. Guests enjoying the water park agree to comply with all water park policies, rules, and regulations.
2. Wristbands are distributed from the front desk upon hotel check in or at the water park
cashier for the day and are required for water park admissions. (This includes just spectators;
they are subjected to the day’s entry fee.)
3. One wristband will be issued per person. Lost wristbands will be replaced at a cost of Rp.
100,000. Adjustments to wristbands must be done either by the front desk (in‐house guests) or
the water park cashier (day pass guests).
4. Guests giving their wristband to someone else for entrance to the water park will be
blocked from reentering the water park, without refund.
5. Complimentary towels will only be issued to in‐house guests and not day pass guests.
Towels are to remain in the water park. Guests are not to leave with their towels
6. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and will not be
issued a wristband without adult accompaniment.
7. Monitoring your child/children remains your responsibility even when lifeguards are present.
8. Lifeguards and management have final authority on all safety decisions.
Please be advised the lifeguard’s responsibility is to prevent aquatic emergencies
from happening and not to baby‐sit children.
9. We ask for your patience if we need to call a 15 minute safety check for training
purposes. This does not happen often, but will need to happen under certain
circumstances.
10. Guests using the water park must wear proper attire including footwear and cover‐ups in
all public spaces of the hotel.
11. Water shoes may be worn in the park but are not permitted on the slides.
12. Water wings and non‐US Coast Guard approved vests are not permitted in the water park.
Lifejackets are available to be rented free of charge at the water park cashier.
13. All children in lifejackets must be within arm’s reach of a parent/guardian.
14. The pools are chlorinated and are in accordance with State and Marian County requirements.
They are monitored multiple times a day to keep chemical levels within safe, mandated limits.
Caribbean Cove will close any body of water when a test does not pass and will remain closed
for at least an hour. Refunds may be issued during this time if the guest is leaving the park.
15. Caribbean Cove Hotel and Water Park is not responsible for discoloration to any garment, or
any rash that may occur due to periods of exposure in the pools.
