1 Problem
1.
-. Sometimes, hard to shift the main gears especially when the weather is cold.
2. Assumed cause
1) The transmission oil viscosity intends to increase as the weather get cold.
2) Then, the “drag torque” increases on the hydraulic power shuttle clutch.
3) It means that the clutch intend to partially engaged even when it’s
it s on the neutral

4) Therefore, the “synchronizing resistance” on the main gear section will be increased.
5) FYI, for easy synchronizing, the output side of power train from the selected shifting gear should be
free while the input side of it is turning by the engine as it is directly connected to the engine flywheel
via damper plate.

3. Improvement

-. Accumulated gap between plates and discs is increased from 2.2 to 3.0mm to reduce the drag torque on the clutch

-. If your tractor suffers the “hard shifting problem” on the main gears, especially when it’s cold, please
replace hydraulic clutch with new one and upgrade the power-shuttle controller with new program file(mot).
