1 Importing Accounts with Multiple
Classifications and Addresses Using
a Single CSV File

Introduction
In Oracle Sales Cloud, an account can have multiple classifications and addresses.
Using file-based data import, you can import an account with multiple classifications
and addresses through a single CSV file.
In Oracle Sales Cloud, the Account import object structure is hierarchical. The root of the
hierarchy is the organization profile, which must exist before you can import lower-level
entities, such as classifications, addresses, and sales profiles. These child entities can
have other entities as their child entities.
The Classification child object structure is also hierarchical. You can create hierarchies of
classification codes within a classification category. For example, you can set up a
classification category of industries containing the classification codes small enterprise,
medium enterprise, and large enterprise. You can then add other classification codes
such as financial, automotive, and manufacturing to the classification code large
enterprise. With classifications model you can categorize entities, such as organizations,
persons, and households.
An Address child object enables you to capture detailed location information for an
account, contact, household, employee resource, and legal entity. For example, a
person may have residential and official addresses, and an organization may have
different billing and shipping addresses.

Procedure to Import Accounts with Multiple Classifications and

Addresses
Perform the following steps to import accounts with multiple classifications and
addresses:
1. Create the CSV file. The required fields to import an account are:
 Organization_Name
 The combination of PartyOrigSystem and PartyOrigSystemReference or Party
Number
 Existing Classification_Category and Classification_Code, if classification data
needs to be imported
When formatting the CSV file, if the organization name is same for two or more
records, it is important to organize the multiple classification categories, classification
codes, and addresses under the same organization name. The PartyOrigSystem,
PartyOrigSystemReference and Organization_Name needs to be entered once only
for the first record. The following figure shows a sample CSV file:

Note: If Classification Category or Classification Code has a leading 0 (zero) then you must format the
corresponding column in the CSV file as a text field to preserve the leading 0.

2. In the Oracle Sales Cloud application, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work
area and search for Manage File Import Activities.
3. Click Manage File Import Activities link to open the Manage Import Activities page.
4. Click the create button to open the Create Import Activity: Enter Import Options
page.
5. Provide a name for the new import activity and select Account from the Object
drop-down list.
6. Select Upload From value as Desktop and in File Name, browse and upload the CSV
file, and click Next.

7. In the Create Import Activity: Map Fields page edit the attribute mappings if
required, and click Next.

8. Click Activate to start the import process.

9. Check for status of the import activity in the Manage Import Activities page. An
import is successful when the status shows as Completed.

10. Click Completed for detailed information regarding the import.

After the import completes successfully, you can view the imported accounts in the
Accounts page. To open the Accounts page, click Accounts in the Navigator. To view
the new account search for it in the Accounts page.
