I studied science when I was a school student and the thinking, I had then has developed a lot

as the time has passed. Whenever I hear God or religion, I try to associate it with science.
There are instances which make me believe in god and then there are some instances where I
feel like there is no such thing; this is human nature which we discussed in the class also.

At present, there is a lot of talk about universe, space and planets. My idea varies from others
as I think that Science explains the laws of universe. It gives the formulas, explanations but
science didn’t create universe. Similarly, science tries to explain physics, chemistry, biology,
astronomy etc. but science didn’t create humans, matters or the stars or the moon. It was
rightly said that the gaps which Science can’t fill are given the name of god.

I studied this when I was in school and I would like to quote Isaac Newton here, “He said that
gravity explains the motion of the planets but gravity cannot explain who sets these planets
into motion”.

What I believe is that Science explains the creation of things (universe, sun, moon) but
religion talks about the creator, the god who creates things.  So, Science and Religion is not
opposite from each other or contradict to each other but rather they both are connected to
each other. Both Religion and Science are important for our life and to believe in God.

As I mentioned above about some instances which make me fall for Science and not towards
God or religion, let me explain this.  I believe Science possesses something religion doesn’t
have; reliability. If I jump from a 25m high building there will be no question in my mind
about what will happen as science will explain this. Gravity, in this instance, is not
negotiable; I’ll fall like a rock and when I hit the ground, I’ll experience a sudden stop and
this is explained by science. God, on the other hand, lacks any semblance of reliability. Even
among the most ardent participants, it is intensely unreliable. So much so that a reasonable
person could question whether it is valid at all.

Many students during the lecture said that we never saw god then how can we believe god.
We never saw a lot of things but still we believe them e.g.: we personally never saw a
dinosaur or space or the extinct animals but we still believe that they were present on the
behalf of their remains and patches. On the same ground if the scriptures or the holy books
talk about god or some like the Bhagavat Gita recite the words said by the God himself why
shouldn’t we believe it.
At the end, I would conclude by saying that for me personally it doesn’t matter what others
think of God. But if someone in any corner of the world finds peace by chanting the name of
the divine soul then I am no one to argue who or where is God.
