MODULE 1: TECHNICAL DRAFTING

1. As a computer-aided designer, a client asks you to design a house and lot. How are you going
to satisfy his need? Enumerate your ideas.

 As a computer-aided designer to satisfy my client/s, first I’m going to introduce myself

when a client asks me to design a house and lot. I’m going to satisfy the needs of my
clients by making a plan and design of their house and lot according to their own
preference.

 As a computer-aided designer, I will give their wants and make the image of their dream
house into reality. I will make a design for them, which will give them a comfortable and
relaxing atmosphere. So that whenever they are home they will feel it is the place for the
to relax.

 As a computer-aided designer my job is not for the designs only, but also for the
comfortability of my clients.

2. What are computer application are you going to use?

 To make the plans and designs I will go to use software like a SketchUp Pro application.

 SketchUp Pro has a lot of tools and turn a plan into perspective. Giving you plan to build
easily and eases the changes.

 This application, it is allows you to render surfaces in an array of "styles". Pick from a
variety of architecture that best suits your design and pleases your client.

 SketchUp Pro can start with very broad strokes, but also get incredibly detailed. Some
firms geek out their SketchUp Pro models down to the screw before ever taking it into the
construction document production phase of a project. This allows for an insane amount of
flexibility, and ensures anyone in the firm can pick up the design and move it forward.

ACTIVITY: Create a simple house design using the basic command computer- aided design
(CAD) application. Manipulates lines and shades accordingly. Use any CAD application
software you are very much familiar with. Suggestions can be an AutoCAD, AutoDesk,
Tinkercad. TDI Technical Drawings and Illustrations by Microsoft, Drawing Board for Windows
10 among others.

2. In your community, interview a draftsman, architect or a student who has experienced

working with a CAD program/application. Take down notes on their experiences about the
program and ask outputs that they have done, the benefits of using computer aided drafting
software and the challenges being encountered in using the application software.
