Unit 3 Language race SB p29

AIM Pre-activity (5 minutes)

To practise Present Simple verbs, question words, • Write the following on the board:
opposite adjectives and nouns, and pronunciation 1 brother, Monday, understand, surname

Reading, Speaking, Pronunciation • Ask which underlined sound in 1 is different (surname), then ask
where the word stress is in 2 (American). Then elicit answers to 3,

• Now write the following categories on the board and ask students
to match them to the questions:

• Start the race. When the first group finishes, everyone stops and
each group passes their race to another group for correction. Then
