Also, it is the act of giving an opportunities to the other
participants to talk.

TOPIC SHIFTING It pertains to the act of shifting of topic. It introduces


another topic.
TOPIC CONTROL It is the act of controlling the flow of the conversation or
discussion.
The speaker focuses only on the topic that is being
discussed. He or she manipulates the coverage of the
discussion.
TERMINATION It refers to the act of ending the conversation or
discussion.
It involves the used of concluding cues (verbal and
nonverbal) to give signal that the conversation will put to
end.
