The table shows how many children were born in Australia in 1981, 1986, 1996 and 2001, to

mothers between 40 to 44 years of age.


Overall, two children's women were the greatest proportion over time. Furthermore, the

has continuously increased.
From 1981 to 1986, there was a reduction from 27,6 percent to 18,9 percent of four or more

In 1996, the proportion of one child group was 11.3% and 38.2%, respectively, but in the next
ten years, it continuously grew to 13.2%. The share of mothers with two children reached a peak
of 38.3% in 2006. Although there were still three or four or more children. The four or more
children decrease the proportion to 11% in 2006, which was also the lowest in 2006. By

substantially.
