Inspired by the TV show ‘The Backyardigans’, Alyssa Carson made her decision since the
age of 3 to be on the first human mission to Mars around 2033. She is now an American
trainee astronaut and public speaker. In 2013, she was the first person to complete the
NASA Passport Program by going to all 14 NASA Visitor Centres in the USA.

The dominant purpose of recycling is not just to conserve the depleting natural resources
on earth but a more dreadful one — to reduce waste products in landfills. Approximately
2.12 billion tons of waste is produced yearly. Imagine how much land is needed to bury all
the waste if we do not recycle? If the recycling mission failed, earth will soon run out of
land for us to live on, or rather we will live amongst the rubbish.

Did you know that your handwriting can actually tell a lot of about your character? It may
not be obvious to the writer especially one is immersively focused on the content when
writing. However, in the reader’s eyes, we could tell whether or not the writer emphasises
on the cleanliness, tidiness, uniformity or even aesthetics which gives us an impression of
the writer’s overall character. So now you know why teachers emphasise so much on your
handwriting decency — they want a better character in you.
