The CS Examinations are usually held in the months of June and December every year. The earliest examination at
which you would be eligible to appear is December, 2018 and you are eligible for both module.

The last date for receipt of examination enrollment application alongwith the prescribed examination fee in the Institute
for appearing in June/ December examination is 25th March / 25th September respectively. You are advised to submit
the examination form alongwith examination fee online by 25th March/ 25th September positively for June/ December
Sessions of examinations.

Dear Student,

Students registered with effect from 01/02/2013 in CS Executive stage shall be registered under
Syllabus 2012.

The nomenclature of 7 papers of the Executive Programme is as follows and the study material is
sent by post to the students after completion of registration related formalities.

Non- Commerce graduates are required to study the following subjects of the Foundation
programme for self study purpose and to get acquainted with the basics of CS course

You may please check the contents of the packet and immediately bring to our notice,
discrepancies, if any. You are advised to read the syllabus and contents for each subject given in
the first few pages of each study set. Any complaint relating to short supply, missing lessons etc.
received after a fortnight of the dispatch of study material may not be entertained.

The study material sent by post bears the application number and/ or registration number. Student
registration number should invariably be quoted in all communications with the Institute.
Study Material, Self-Test Questions

All the study materials have been prepared incorporating to the extent possible the latest
amendments that have taken place up to the date of printing of the study material. Detailed course
contents for each subject have been given at the beginning of each study material. List of
suggested readings and books for reference have also been given for the benefit of the students.
Some of the law subjects undergo frequent changes either by legislative amendments or through
Rules, Notification, etc. issued from time to time. It is, therefore, essential for every student to keep
his knowledge updated and for this purpose he should refer to various judgements, orders, rules,
guidance notes etc. that may be published from time to time either in the Institute’s monthly journal
‘Chartered Secretary’ or in the monthly students bulletin titled ‘Student Company Secretary’. In
case you experience any difficulty in undergoing coaching, you may write to the Directorate of
Students Services with your specific queries for further guidance, at the above address.

It has been our endeavour to prepare the best possible study materials, still there could be a scope
for further improvement. You will agree and appreciate that improvement is a continuous process.
Therefore, it is our sincere desire to bring about improvements in the areas wherever deficiencies

The study material supplied to you are fairly exhaustive and also contain the necessary orientation
and exposure expected of the candidates. You are, therefore, advised to read the study material as
basic material and thereafter supplement it with further suggested readings.

Self-Test Questions (if applicable)

At the end of some of the lessons, you may find Self-Test Questions relating to the subject
discussed therein. These are meant for recapitulation only. Their answers need not be submitted
for evaluation.

Quote Registration Number

While making correspondence with the Institute, you must invariably quote your registration
number and complete correspondence address with pin code. Letters/Emails not bearing the
student registration number may not be attended to.

Nine Months Criteria

Candidates desiring to appear at an examination must have got themselves registered at least nine
calendar months prior to the month in which the examination commences, besides fulfilling other
requirements laid down under the regulations. In other words, students registered upto and
including the month of August in a year will be eligible for appearing in the June examination of the
next year. Similarly students registered upto and including the month of February will be eligible for
appearing in the December examination of the same year.

However, a candidate may be allowed to appear in one module of CS Executive Programme


examination, if he is registered as a student at least for a period of six calendar months prior to the
month in which the examination commences. Accordingly, students registered upto and including
May/November in a year can appear in one module of the CS Executive Programme examination
held in December/June next, respectively.
Class Room Teaching

The Regional Councils and some of the Chapters approved by the Institute are conducting class
room teaching for the benefit of the students. The class room teaching is Optional.

Candidates who desire to join the class room teaching may contact the respective Regional office/
Chapters office with their Identity Card for enrolling themselves for class room teaching.

CS Executive Programme Examination

Students are advised to submit the examination form through online services of the Institute at
www.icsi.edu . Details of examination pattern, Schedule etc is available at the following link at the

Examination fees

Rs. 1,200/- Per Module (Rupees One Thousand Two Hundred only).

Last date for receipt of enrolment applications for examination in the Institute:

(i) 25thth March (with late fees of Rs. 250/-, 9th April)th for June examination.
(ii) 25 September (with late fees of Rs. 250/-, 10 October) for December examination

Admit Card

Students may please note that the Admit cards for appearing in the CS examinations may be
downloaded by the students approximately 15 days before the commencement of examinations.
Mark sheets

E mark sheets are issued to Foundation and Executive programme students which can be
downloaded from the website of the Institute and the same are not sent by post.

Pass certificate

Pass certificates are issued only to professional pass students which is usually issued within one
month after declaration of results.

Email Address of the Students

All students are advised to give a valid/correct email ID while registering online which shall facilitate
quick and economic communication from the Institute’s side.

Updation of Address

Students are advised to update their address in case they have changed their place of residence.
Address can be changed through your online account by clicking on change of Address option. In
case any student fails to update his or her address in case of change in the same, he/she may miss

STUDENT ACADEMIC HELPLINE

The Student Academic Helpline is the helpline launched for students which provides the best of the
faculty across the country to guide the students on various subjects. The Helpline remains open at
7 AM in the morning till 11 PM of night. Students may call us at 0120-6267777 and inform the
central core team about their query on any topic of Company Secretaryship Course. The central
core team thereafter connects the students to the subject expert/faculty across the Country.

The Call Centre provides for Interactive Voice Response as well as a Ticketing Mechanism
ICSI Study Centre Scheme

The institute had launched ‘ICSI Study Centre primarily to enhance the reach of the Institute in
areas which are not getting the desired level of services due to distantly located regional / chapter
offices of the Institute. Under the scheme, the Institute is striving to establish Study Centres in most
of the Smart Cities as proposed by the Government of India which shall not only remove the
distance barrier but also improve the level of services being provided to the students in such areas.
