Suicide Prevention/ Intervention

Running Title: Theta Chi Mental Health Fair

Theta Chi Mental Health Fair:

 An on campus event in a little church area at the CIVIC Center, or the SU Quad area

o 1-6 on Saturday the 24th in April

o More like a fresh fusion event

 Multi station area, with booths for each presenter and a brother partnering

o Suicide Prevention Strategies, before hand

o Suicide Intervention, what to do in the immediate, how to intervene

o Suicide Grief, if you have someone you have lost and how to deal with it

o Youth Prevention, recognizing signs in kids

o Men’s Mental Health Awareness, destigmatizing getting help for men and

removing the barrier off being “masculine”

o Women’s Mental Health Awareness, helping women deal with stereotypes

o LGBTQ+ Station for mental health, addressing stressors in their community and

resources on how to help

o Comfort zone, how to relax with stress and relieve some stress

o Mental Health Resources on Campus, what NKU can provide to you

o Mental Illness Health Awareness, destigmatizing mental illness, and how to

recognize and be helpful with your friends

  We know each organization can get a grant for funds (up to 2,000) we just have to put

together our plan and speak on it to get funding

Incentivize:

 How can we bring people to this event

o We can market it with free food outside so people passing through can grab a

quick bite to eat, like hot dogs and they can walk through our area and stop by

the various tents and learn more on the various subject matters. Can buy pizzas

and chips to be able to handout

o Can market as a chance to being people on campus for a cause

o Promote people bringing their own animals for people to interact with, take

their mind off stress and have a chance to interact with others and cute animals

o Punch card, you fill out a punch card you’re entered into a raffle, can dunk our

President. Have to visit all 10 stations for punch raffle, or a majority for punch

raffle

Additions:

 Corn Hole Boards and kickball games cycling through

 NKU organizations can also show up to provide funding, and set up nooths for free

exposure and give out items

 Can be very much a fun in the sun event
