Description of the Business

Arduino project shop or Arduino electronics shop is an open-source electronics platform
based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino is designed to make electronics more
accessible to artists, designers, hobbyists and anyone interested in creating interactive objects
or environments.
As an aspiring entrepreneur, I want to make a project that includes technology that need now a
days. This Arduino which is a model board that any stem projects can use it. I consider
technology as one of my interest and I believe that we must innovate and use modernization
technology to solve environmental issues and problems of our country and for the world. An
Arduino board can be purchased pre-assembled or, because the hardware design is open
source, built by hand. Either way, users can adapt the boards to their needs, as well as update
and distribute their own versions.

Location of the Business

This type of business will operate in Cresencia Village Dangwa St. Guisad, Baguio City. This
location is one of the perfect place to start and put my small business because of this place
which is near from my home and beside from the weather this place is not that crowd so that me
and my friends can focus in making boards to sell it.

For the said location it is near from schools where high schools and college students can buy
my product to use on their own projects related to technology or in computer. This location is
near from computer shops and other hardware stores which these computer shop owners can
buy and use my Arduino board to fix and change their damage board for their computers. In this
location it is walking distance to hardware stores which I can buy some tools for my board. In
dangwa st. guisad it is composed of many schools, computer shops, hardware stores and other
stores which most of them are near and walking distance to my exact location and of course my
target costumer were there.

For the said location in peace and order situation well most people there are law abiding citizen
and responsible. There were few cases like robbery but the suspects are not from there. In this
location of course there were near clinics, and barangay halls to pass permission and
requirements for my business. As of now there were no other shops selling boards in
technology and this is my plan and I believe this is one of the unique product that can use for
student’s projects and for future engineer’s creation. We know Baguio city is surrounded by
declivous mountains but in my location Cresencia village were surrounded by trees and not that
steep place and of course Baguio City is the one of the coldest place in Philippines. The place is
cozy and cold weather.
 Funding Requirement and Source

For the estimate total initial cost, the business need a Php50,000.00 for buying tools in
arranging place, and tools and equipment for making boards. These are the following structures
that projected breakdown or allocation of the total cost.

 Since there were abandon place in front of my house, I will ask permission of the owner

(which the owner is the friend of my mother) and I ask if he would want to negotiate and I

pay for the rent on it which the total will be Php3,000.00

 In fixing the place I need to put a door and window on it, and paint a gray, black and

white. And adding woods for storage and etc. which included the tools for using this

which total Php5,000.00

 In generating electricity and fixing wirings which cost Php2500.00

 For the tools and equipment in making board cost Php2,000.00 and I make a 10 pcs

boards which cost Php20,000.00

 For the other tools like motor drive shield, servo motor, ultrasonic sensor, etc. will cost

Php18,500.00

 And last for payment in labor which is my 2 friends that were interested in making
technology one of them is Php500.00 each which total cost Php1,000.00 and all total is
Php50,000.00

Business Description

Arduino project is originally started as a research project by Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles,
Tom Igoe, Gianluca Martino, and David Mellis at the Interaction Design Institute of Ivrea in the
early 2000s, it builds upon the Processing project, a language for learning how to code within
the context of the visual arts developed by Casey Reas and Ben Fry as well as a thesis project
by Hernando Barragan about the Wiring board. Arduino is the world’s leading open-source
hardware and software ecosystem. It offers a range of software tools, hardware platforms and
documentation enabling almost anybody to be creative with technology.

In talking about technology, some people may think it will make the humanity lazy and can
destroy our environment which is true. But we must accept we are now in modern world which
surrounded by innovating products and me as my plan for future studying environmental issues
which we must make a product that can help our environment especially in electricity that we
can use our nature to produce our resources. Actually this Arduino project exist mostly in India,
most of engineers in India use this Arduino in making their own version technology that can help
for their country. But sadly the Arduino is not quite popular here in Philippines which as a
student I volunteer to make some tools to help and support our inventors and engineers for the
sake of our country. Which the mission is being emphasized and this type of business will help
to create your own and to boost your creativity into your creation which the vision is being
emphasized.

In this business it will form partnership among us friends and negotiating in our family which
most of them had a friends who are engineers and had a computer-degrees. The manufacturing
of this business which will be homemade and some tools that will be use are recycled which we
can get from junk shops, and other store who sells antique devices. Of course I have 2 friends
that will help and assist me. They were from stem strand which both of them are interested in
electronics and physics. And for services which we assist our costumer on how to make a
sample easy robot by using an Arduino Board and I will give each of them the brochure and the
content in there which are the steps and the use and including to avoid by the boards. Of
course for the savings in this business will come from my allowance and the money that I save
in one year. The whole 50,000php that I needed is not one time to pay and buy on it, of course I
must collect some tools and pay each one by one if I have extra money. Each my savings I buy
one of them to collect until this tools that I need will be completed. And the other tools that
mostly came from the recycled which is to less pay and one of my strategies for budgeting since
I’m just only a student. By utilizing this form, the business can operate smoothly.

Arduino Board

There types and different models in Arduino board like

Arduino board has been used for making different engineering projects and different
applications. The Arduino software is very simple to use for beginners, yet flexible adequate for
advanced users. It runs Windows, Linux, and Mac.

logging, graphing and analyzing sensor data, and triggering events. The kit has ten different
projects with step-by-step tutorials.

are step-by-step teacher guides, and lessons can be paced according to students’ abilities.

This making Arduino board is home-made and some of the model we could order through
online. This boards were originally from the thesis of engineers which the names are conclude
above (description of business).

Various Plan and Office Equipment

As a small business, the Arduino project shop will be needing not that quite small amount for
furniture, tools and equipment. For the office furniture in table which I use my mother’s old table
as my office table and put some DIY furniture made by collected scattered woods, recycled
papers with color or non color, paints, and other glitters or some small particle for the design.
And of course I buy second hand tables for my 2 team mates that will help me making the
model of boards. And I add some cabinet to put the finished product and an box storage for the
tools and the unfinished product. And I will buy an small amount plant from one of my
classmate that will sell a plant and this plant is to look my place organize and that can look
attractive to my customers. We don’t need some cooking equipment which the place is near
from my home as our sources from our food. We don’t need much amount for the furniture
because we can use it by recycling and my goal is to look our office classy, clean, elegant,
simple, and nice that most people want to enter. I add some too a cleaning equipment so that
the office will keep clean.

Size of the Proposed Business

Being fresh in the business in the market, it will first operate minimally until it will be boost and
gain our profit. Is also applies to our target customer until the location will go in the public places
which are more crowded like town. Which our target will be added beside students there will be
engineers and IT would be interested and buy our products until the Arduino project products
will be branch around Baguio City. And while building our profiles in the market we will negotiate
in local government and some department that related to technology and hope this Arduino
project will be popular over the Benguet and this local government and the Departments that we
negotiate hope that will help us and allow to have branch in other provinces even outside
cordilliera.

Future Parties with whom Contracts may be Necessary

For the business, well there were parties with whom I contract with one is the supplier for
boards, and other products, and second is the department of science and technology which we
benefit one another and help me to find investors to invest my business and as the benefit we
will help them to create more modernization products that will help for environmental issues,
agriculture, and for industry. And third is the DepEd (department of Education) to make some
program about innovating by using technology for the students who are interested in science,
mathematics and modernization and for the aspiring engineers. And because of these parties it
will help to support our engineers and inspired more people and creating more scientist,
inventors, and engineers that will help for modernizing and development of our country. And
because of the help of these parties it will ensure the good quality supplies and good business
relationships.

Personnel Requirements

In order to provide a high quality of service it is recommended that the evaluating and
supporting personnel of the program exhibit certain characteristics, such as flexibility,
professionalism, caring, assertiveness, and thorough training. But since we were only students
I must ask and recruit people that I know who were good in technology and in fixing wirings.
And for the future candidates should possess the following professional and personality

In the business, our task divided and as an owner I take the charge and observe them. In the
task division there will be task in assisting customers for now we were only 3 in office and the 2
of my team mates both of them are introvert and lack of social skills so I take the charge in
assisting our customers and 2 of them were only focused in making some boards and help me
to learn more strategies to survive our business and I will help them at the same time. As an
ABM student I’ll take in charge in accounting and record the expenses and charges from the
profit that we gain and I will study and discover more new business models to adapt and run my
business smoothly.
