1.Qs = How have we accommodated the participation of our interested stake holders.

- We have accommodated the participation of interested parties by mainly toolbox talks where by
everyone will be free to say out his /her views in terms of safety, healthy and quality.

- There is also SHE reps who consult all queries around all working areas, they will be also
implementing the SHEQ policy informing workers about hazards which may be caused by our
equipments or machinery.

- The workers commit also represents some other issues like wages and anything else to the
management.

- Our CEO also move around in every department consulting what workers are expecting in there
working areas.

- There are also notice boards which will be written any information intended to spread to the
workers.

- SHEQ department also put suggestion boxes in other areas for everyone to be free to say out
his/her views if afraid of anyone.

- There is also a reward price for anyone who raises a valid point through these suggestion boxes.

2. Qs = How has the IMS contributed to the Beta Holdings profitability.

- The contribution which is profitability are: following the SHEQ policy by making good quality of
products.

- Introducing new products like chakari bricks.

- There also introduce face bricks plant which is the Verdes plant.

- They also put some targets for weekly, monthly and yearly to achieve their goals.

- They are also trying to reduce accidents during work so that everyone will be working without a
fear of injuries.

- There is also the introduction of Melfort site to improve productivity.

- Also there is the quarry stones department.

- They also introduce Beta Zambia for the growth of our company.

- Also they have the Massa branch for cement bricks and pavers.

- They bought their tracks to transport bricks in satisfaction of the customers.

3. Qs = What has Beta Holdings put in place under IMS to ensure effective IMS implementation.

- To follow EMA rules and regulation to protect the environment.

- To put a risk and hazard register.

- To follow the Hiraq of controls.

- To introduce training programmes like now.

- To conduct the auditors for monitoring their progress.

- To have their objectives for the year.

- To have a team to engage the customers complains every time when needed.

- Also having the toolbox talks regularly.

the IMS.

- Incoming coal strength testing.

- Incoming sand smoothing testing.

- Production carbon content tests.

- Packing and burning carbon content tests.

- Monitoring of PPE.

- Moisture content for packing process.

- Review for pneumoconiosis to the workers.

- Guards and fire extiguishers monitoring

5. Qs = How has Beta Holdings Implement the improvement mechanism in its IMS function.

- The stocking of clay for more than 1 stock pile.

- Using a tipper for carrying production clay instead of tractor.

- Introduction of self loading trucks.

- Palletising of bricks.

- Introduction of forklifts for production and packing and burning.

- Introduction of bunners at Hoffman instead of hand firing.
