FOOTBALL SWEEP – RULES

Each player selects a unique combination of 5 teams. As the season progresses your
five chosen teams are awarded a point per their current position. (For example, a team
currently in fifth place would be awarded five points). The accumulated points total for
your five chosen teams is then displayed in the league table.
At the end of the season the player with the lowest accumulated score will win the top
prize.
A league table showing your current position will be posted on the website
(rpjfootballsweep.weebly.com) at regular intervals throughout the season.
Any players finishing in the top 30 positions and on level points with any other player
at the end of the season will share the respective prizes.
Note – The exception to this rule are for any ‘Spot Prizes’ when exact finishing
positions are decided alphabetically.

KO CUP – RULES

How to Play

1. The KO Cup will consist of a Preliminary Round, 1st Round, 2nd Round, 3rd Round, 4th
Round, 5th Round, Quarter -Final, Semi -Final and Final.

2. All player’s names are entered into a computer - generated random draw and
distributed accordingly.

3. Once the draw has taken place all you have to do is hope your five chosen sweep
teams score more goals than your opponents five chosen sweep teams over a
designated ‘Cup weekend’ (printed separately), to progress to the next round.

(Note – It does not matter whether your teams win or lose – only how many goals they
score)

Rules

1. All Cup games will be played on designated ‘Cup Weekends’.

2. All Cup weekends will be held when there is a full programme of League matches
taking place.

3. Cup weekends will run from Friday night to Monday night, thereby incorporating any
live televised games that are taking place.

4. In the event of a draw the player whose teams have scored the most goals away
from home will win.

5. If Rule ‘4’ fails to decide the winner then the player whose Premier League team
scored the most goals will win the match. If this still fails to decide the tie then the
goals scored by the Championship sides will decide the tie and so on until there is a
winner.
6. If Rule ‘4’ or ‘5’ still fails to decide the winner, the player whose Premier League
team scored the most away goals will win the tie. If this still fails to decide the tie
then the Championship side that scored the most away goals will decide the tie
and so on until there is a winner.

7. If for any reason a team does not play on a Cup weekend, i.e. match abandoned or
postponed, then that team will be awarded 2 goals for the purpose of the competition.

(NOTE – When implementing Rules 4, 5 and 6 ‘real’ goals scored will always take
precedence over goals awarded to teams that have not played)

8. If two players are still drawing after rules 4, 5, and 6 have been implemented then the
player whose Premier League team scored the quickest goal in their respective
games will win (ie Man Utd score in 35th minute / Chelsea score in 34th minute =
player who selected Chelsea wins tie.) If this still fails to decide the tie then the
Championship side that scored the quickest goal in their respective game will decide
the tie and so on until there is a definite winner.

9. If for any reason a team should play more than once during any cup weekend only the
goals scored in the first game will count towards the competition.

10. The decision of the organiser is final.
