After initial design phase, build program in 1 year, test with 1+ department(s) for 1 year, begin
rolling out campus-wide by the start of 3rd year

Note: Initial design phase will take place over 8 weeks

Brief Description of the Purpose of the Project (10 points):

Create a plan to implement a micro-credentialing/badging system at Houston Baptist University.

Display mastery of instructional skills such as research-based teaching strategies, technology


integration, authentic assessment, quality course design, and strategies to increase student
engagement and critical thinking.

Provide research that shows the benefits of having a micro-credentialing/badging system at HBU
using credible resources and the experiences of other organizations.

● Create a system to demonstrate mastery of specific skills


● Provide continuous learning opportunities for instructors
● Design micro-learning opportunities that provide flexibility within an instructor’s schedule
● Encourage instructors to explore innovative instructional or pedagogical practices
