Module: 3 Artifact: Community Curriculum Support

1. Explain how this artifact show growth towards becoming a TL:

I chose this artifact for my personal portfolio because I felt it would be a very useful
tool for sharing with my colleagues as a teacher librarian while resulting in TL
advocacy. I feel that this artifact shows growth towards becoming a TL because I
recognized that it would be something useful to have in my TL toolbox, but that it
needed more attention and revision before it would be ready to share. I listened to the
feedback of my peers and revised the assignment to include 3 more British Columbian
or Canadian resources. I now feel very confident about this resource and the idea of
either sharing it with my colleagues or using it as a tool for collaborative unit planning
with other teachers.

2. Describe the progression of creating this artifact (attach drafts, feedback, and final
project):

See “Original Community Curriculum Support Assignment”, “Prescriptive Feedback”

and “Revised Community Curriculum Support Assignment” sections on Module 3
page of http://zurrerportfolio.weebly.com/

3. Explain why this artifact reflects higher level thinking (Bloom’s Taxonomy chart):

This artifact reflects higher level thinking in the levels of evaluation, application and
synthesis. I reviewed my original assignment and evaluated it based on the feedback I
received from my peers and my own criteria for what I intended to accomplish with it.
I then modified the assignment to reflect that criteria and synthesized my original
ideas and resources with new ideas and resources to produce a more comprehensive
assignment that fully met the criteria of my instructor as well as my own. This process
led me to a revised resource and tool for library advocacy that I feel confident in
sharing with colleagues.
