Introduction

Critics have focused on addressing the various fantasies and government policies that can
handle the events that followed the 9/11 terrorist attack on America and how the government
itself has been doing to address the issues. Various readers and theorists have also reiterated how
terror globalization come into realization with the American security realization. The state of that
particular security results in fantasies that have in many ways depicted the increase of security
that has led to the prevention of many current terrorism attacks and future ones. The 9/11
literature has reiterated on many occasions that just after the 9/11 terrorist attack on America, the
administration that was ruling then. To be more specific, the Bush administration formulated the
policies that would steer the expansion of the security state of America and all its agencies for
the longest time such that even the preceding administration would be in a position to enjoy the
many aspects of the security detail that was formulated then. Even security was expanded in such
a way that the state experts that were brought about positioned the United States of America at a
point where the line was drawn between law and politics: "we are going to win this war, not
because we have glory but for the freedom and justice, as well as our peace" as Tom Harkin, puts
it. This particular strategy that saw the American government separate the law and its politics
was also brought to the point that the state's legal terms could not be understood under the
juridical measures.
Several studies on post-9/11 Literature have looked at how authors represented the
terrorist attacks to ensure that the readers comprehend what is depicted in these literary works.
The first element that we can observe, in this case, is the plot. The plot in post-9/11 Literature
often revolves around the significant events that happened after the terrorist attack on America.
The Literature tells us more about the major events that took place after the 9/11 attack. The
second element is the theme, as there is the theme of war and terrorism in this text.
Further, one of the literary styles that give rise to this Literature is the narrative style used
to help the reader understand how the event occurred. The narration literary style reminds the
people of how the events occurred and what transpired after that. The national trauma is
significantly engaged by helping the people come to terms with what happened during the 9/11
incident.
In their response, they feel that it was a fantasy driving terrorism in a significant way.
Therefore, the Literature addresses the various aspects of how the country was erasing the
different worldly affiliations, which seem to be making it possible for the exceptionalism of
fantasies to be operational. The Literature also talks about homeland globalization which seeks to
explain how there should be normalization of the security agencies in the necessities of the
primary basis of existence (Duvall and Marzec). The public sphere erasure was also some of the
points that the Literature has been addressing while at the same time expounding the importance
of having the government policies formulated that will help discard any vulnerability to its
citizens. The 9/11 incident has so far remained a shaping factor that has shaped and reshaped
American culture for the past years since the incident happened.
The body of work has exponentially increased now, with a lot of research being done on
the same topic of study while helping the researchers and writers develop Literature that gets
closer to encompassing all the aspects of personal, national, and cultural security. Too many
essays and Literature have been written regarding the political correctness experienced since the
year that the 9/11 terrorist attack had happened in America, leaving so many discussions and
controversies over the same topic of study that saw everyone think in their way (Gonçalves).
Some of the researchers have, over time, argued that there some people who are usually upset by
the fact that the memorial services that are conducted for the people who perished during that
particular incident of the terrorism attack seem to erase all the memories for the following ten
years. However, some literature reviews have been arguing that since the 9/11 incident occurred,
there has been particular concerns of any kind showing how the state has been committed bring
together the main ecocritical agendas that are meant to cement the main policies that have been
formulated to help expand and strengthen the security state of the country which will see the
protection of the citizens and reduced possibility of any terrorist attack is happening to in the
country or to any of the key allies. Other Literature works like the post-9/11 American-Arab
fiction have played a destabilizing function in helping construct the sense of national belonging
by the citizens and bring about the imaginations of some of the major heterogenous non-
formulaic enactments that define the types of citizens. According to Doug MacArthur, "America
and Americans never quit no matter what the circumstances." The most devastating thing that
American Literature has been arguing over is that 9/11 and the past events that happened have
never gotten out of its disciplinary encampment. The contributors of the literary works have not,
by any chance, cited the canonical arts that have been disguised work in favor of the discourse of
terrorism.
The fact that we are living in the post-9/11 era whereby the event has been in so many
times turned into an unavoidable point of reference for many aspects of Literature and history as
a whole, the intellectual life aspects of the people living in the United States of America as well
as the rest of the world in general. Some literary artworks have been published with the 9/11
designatory that have been used as a strategy to market the offer to the buyers who are
sympathetic with how the situation happened and how the United States of America government
handled the situation. The central notion of the 9/11 incident that occurred a few years back has
been implying how it represents a particular moment of rapture in history engulfed in the mind of
the citizens who live with the traumas of the incident (Gray). The events of this particular
incident were very critical so that they have remained vivid to many people's minds. The results
have been realized to have some interconnected crises that have been arising from the event
while at the same time being upstaged in various literary works. In the post-9/11 event, all the
public spheres became a field of process battle and controversies surrounding the 9/11 terrorist
attack on the United States of America. The aftermath of the incident resulted in many
intercultural wars between the conservatives and the liberals fighting each other for their various
ideologies. The aftermath of this particular incident also was responsible for the rift that came to
occur between the Americans whereby they became very divided on how the major occurrences
of that particular incident affected their daily lives as well as the relationship they had with each
other and the relations the United States of America had with the country that was the origin of
the terrorist group that raided the country leaving many people dead. In contrast, another is
fighting for their lives, and others are left with the scars of their memorable and sad incident.
Some researchers who have been studying the trend of recovery for the United States of
America from the incident that left it incurring so much loss show no particular interest in the
Literature and the departments of the studies that seem to have been working to inform them of
their work. The post-9/11 Literature has been conducted over the past years since the incident
has been described as indispensable artwork in how the culture has been affected in many ways
(Randall). The indispensable work has been developed to work in a way that they will perform as
better artistic works. To be able to perform the cultural works that the literature advocates for in
respect to post-9/11 incident narration, one has to be able to speak to that specific culture rather
than having to speak to some other folks who seem to be like-minded but in the real sense, they
are critics of the whole Literature regarding the happenings of the post-9/11 incident. Some other
literature analysts like Margaret Scanlan have devised many ways analysis the various aspect of
the major incidents of the alternative histories that have described in a relatable way how there
could be happenings in the future that are aimed at examining the 9/11 incidents and how they
affect the ordinary citizens of the United States of America. Some literary forms of art have
brought about the feelings of familiarity and some of the most unthinkable revelations that
engulfed the whole idea of 9/11 and the happenings surrounding it. Some literature novels, such
as the Terrorists, have received so much criticism from the people and other authors and other
researchers. The novel has, on many occasions, refuted the many ideas of the post-9/11 reflection
of the whole country and the national triumphalism that was observed in the post-9/11 times. He
says that this kind of triumphalism, on many occasions, underpins and undermines the major
reflections of how the US handled the 9/11 situation and how this situation itself affected the
country economy-wise and peace-wise. The American Literature has provided in many cases the
various unconscious and conscious processes that could have led to the people who were behind
the deadly 9/11 terrorist attack being so confident to walk into the death path to leave the
mayhem that was realized in the US following an incident that left many Americans dead and
others with scars.
The Literature seeks to understand the many aspects of what was possible for the people
involved in planning the whole incident, evaluating whether they had the thought through the
process, knowing that whatever they did could lead to potentially many deaths and casualties.
Many others have invited the readers to imagine how it possible for someone with a sound mind
and a working cognitive mind to end up strapping a bomb on their body to blow up some plane
that has people with lives in it. It helps the people to rethink the whole ideas of how the people
who planned this deadly attack thought of the aftermath, whether they wanted to make America
suffer as a whole or just wanted to satisfy their desire to kill other people as well as kill
themselves in the middle of the rapture. It is hard to imagine or even comprehend how possible
this was given the circumstances that had happened that fateful day in the United States of
America. It becomes very hard for anyone to comprehend these very unimaginable facts that
occurred during the 9/11 incident. Once someone has read the essays and the Literature on these
incidents, they never think the same anymore. Most Literature has been noted to center on the
American authors who have had first-hand information on the very specific details of what
happened on that very fateful day. The events in the literary works of the 9/11 incident have been
perceived as the turning point of the history of the United States of America, where the country's
security was tested to the maximum. The literature works conducted during this time of post-
9/11 have outlined that many disruptive events and occurrences happened after this particular
incident of 9/11. These events caused major disruptions of the social networks in the worst way
possible, and how the people who had witnessed this kind of incident were left in so much
confusion having no idea of how to interpret what exactly transpired in this event and how they
resorted to the comparison of the events and those that had happened earlier as a means of being
able to make sense of the unknown incidences. Many literary works have discussed the
happenings of the 9/11 events and articulate the major perspectives and the knowledge
discovered and learned from this particular incident. The incident has also been described as
disrupting the Americans' way of life, cultural and social well-being affected largely by the
major events on the fateful day of 9/ 11 happenings. This is where we can find a concrete
connection to the definition of post-9/11 Literature; it attempts to explore what has happened to
the architecture of the American Psyche.
