ELECTION FOR GOVERNING BODY FOR THE TERM 2021-24


INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOTER
Dear Member Engineer,
It is an opportunity for you to strengthen Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in devising policies that bring engineers
recognition as a Nation Building Community by exercising your vote judiciously. May Almighty Allah guide you to make
the right choice, Ameen.
Pakistan Engineering Council is conducting elections for the following offices:
1) CHAIRMAN
2) SENIOR VICE-CHAIRMAN
3) FOUR VICE-CHAIRMEN (one from each Province)
4) FORTY MEMBERS GOVERNING BODY
Please note that Physical Balloting will be held at designated polling stations, across Pakistan on SUNDAY, 8th AUGUST,
2021 (from 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs).
Follow the ballot marking procedure carefully for your ballot papers to be valid.
PROCEDURE
Please approach your nearest polling station. After showing your original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC),
your valid PEC Registration and Biometric verification, obtain following THREE BALLOT PAPERS from the Presiding
Officer, viz:
 1st Ballot Paper
FOR ELECTING CHAIRMAN AND SENIOR VICE-CHAIRMAN. Please vote for any ONE candidate as Chairman, and any
ONE candidate as Senior Vice-Chairman, whom you desire to elect and find suitable, by marking [] in the
space/box provided against the name of candidate, using ball pen.
 2nd Ballot Paper
FOR ELECTING VICE-CHAIRMAN OF YOUR PROVINCE to which you belong as per your domicile specified in the Valid
Voters’ List. Please vote for any ONE candidate whom you desire to elect and find suitable, by marking [] in the
space/box provided against the name of candidate, using ball pen.
 3rd Ballot Paper
Besides casting 01 (one) vote for Chairman, 01 (one) vote for Senior Chairman and 01 (one) vote for Vice Chairman
of your province; you will be casting your vote FOR ELECTING MEMBERS GOVERNING BODY FROM THE
DISCIPLINE(S)/GROUP to which you belong. Please vote for as many candidates of each Province and Discipline as
described in Table below by marking [] in the space/box provided against the name of candidate, using ball pen.

FOR EXAMPLE: A valid voter belonging to “ELECTRONICS” will mark for any one candidate for seat allocated to Punjab,
any three candidates for seats allocated to Sindh, any one candidate for seat allocated to KP and any one candidate
for seat allocated to Balochistan. In this way, he will cast 06 (six) votes to the candidates in his discipline/ group
belonging to respective 04 (Four) provinces.

Like wise, A valid voter belonging to “TEXTILE” will mark for any two candidates for seat allocated to Punjab, any one
candidates for seats allocated to Sindh, any one candidate for seat allocated to KP and any one candidate for seat
allocated to Balochistan. In this way, he will cast 05 (five) votes to the candidates in his discipline/ group belonging to
respective 04 (Four) provinces.

CAUTION:
Any incorrect Marking [] or cutting/editing will invalidate your vote. Your vote will not be counted if you vote for
more than designated candidate(s) for a province and group than allowed. Make sure that Ballot Paper should contain
official stamp and signature of the Presiding Officer on the backside, failing to which Ballot Paper will not be counted.

On receipt of ballot papers, please proceed to the booth and mark [] secretly for the candidates of your choice to
elect on the ballot papers, fold and insert Ballot Papers in the relevant ballot boxes in presence of Presiding Officer,
and leave the polling station.

Being a member of the learned community, we expect an exceptionally good conduct from you during your
participation in the PEC election 2021-24.

SOPs FOR PREVENTION OF COVID-19:


All voters must follow COVID SOPs, wear face masks, sanitize their hands in the premises of polling stations and
maintain social distancing while proceeding to cast their votes.
