Rocker Shaft and Push Rod - Install

Installation Procedure

NOTICE
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

1. Install pushrods (3) into cylinder head (4).

Note: Ensure that the pushrods are installed in the original location and that the pushrods
are seated in the valve lifters correctly.

2. Loosen nut (5) and the adjustment screw on each rocker arm to prevent bending a valve or a
pushrod during the installation.

3. Position rocker shaft assembly (1).

 4. Install bolts (2) and tighten to a torque of 24 to 27 N·m (214 to 240 lb in).

5. Adjust the inlet valve lash and the exhaust valve lash to 0.18 to 0.22 mm
(0.007 to 0.009 inch). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Valve Lash -
Inspect/Adjust".

6. Tighten nut (5) on the adjustment screw.
