We can use make with an object and an
adjective:
Practising my speech really makes me
confident. (= I feel very confident when I
practise my speech before I give it.)

We can also use make with an object and an


infinitive:
Practising my speech makes me feel very
confident
Other verbs we can use in this way include
let and help:
Swimming lets me de-stress (= the act of
swimming de-stresses me)

Talking to my friends helps de-stress me.


(= the act of talking to my friends is helpful
for removing stress)
POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
We use possessive pronouns to talk about things
that belong to people.

When we ask about a possession, we can use


whose:
Whose is this book? - it´s mine

We also use belong to to talk about possessions:


This book belongs to me. - it´s mine.
